It’s a shame spires don’t count towards hight. If they did then the WTC would have taken the 70’s, the sears tower had antenna. Antenna does not count to hight no matter what. And the north tower had a spire that was also an antenna. And the antenna on the sears tower is removable, the WTC’s is not. Although I do agree with this.

Fun fact, I just realize something empire State actually hold the tallest building record into 2003 until the 101 was built because antenna on Sears Tower, and twin towers did not count and spire on the empire states counted as height state was taller than them that means it was the tallest under 2003 when the typing 1 01 and Khalifa were made in 2004

The tallest building completed in the 1980s was the US Bank Tower in LA. It was about 3 meters taller than The Franklin.

The US bank tower was actually finished in 1990 according to the Council on Tall buildings and urban habitat, even though Wikipedia says it was built in 1989. I used the other site mentioned as my source which is why it wasn’t built

I use google earth and the ruler tool, sometimes google maps as well, I look up diagrams and measure sizes in screenshots to find how big segments of the skyscraper are. The height is easily available online and 1 block = 1 meter^3
