How about making a working torpedo, it would make multiplayer challenges interesting. They would need 3 things 1. explode on impact 2. would some way to aim them to a target 3. a way to attach them to a boat/sub, while still being easily launchable If you want the added challenge then give them limited fuel, and after they run out of fuel they should explode.

Here's a fun little story: Back in the day when I was playing Logicbots myself, I was having trouble with one of the levels due to a part not working as intended, after I posted it as a bug on the Steam forums the dev (instead of fixing the issue) posted one of Kan's videos and pretty much just said "do what this guy did" and that's how I found the channel! Thank god for lazy devs I guess.

A basic computer is actually really simple. All you need are multiple switches, and when you put one input in, the first switch will turn on or off depending on its original state.Then, the other switches would change state half as fast as the one before it. This computer will count in binary. If you know how to, you can put some together to add, subtract, multiply, divide, and ultimately, do what a modern computer does.
@MrLarsgren

a thing i would like to see at some point is you rebuilding a modern build using pre logic methods like old days , just to show new players what we had to fight back then and the size difference it results in. im a sucker for mechanical devices instead of logic. so nice to watch old retro systems in action.

It would have worked a little better from a mechanical perspective if the sensor was in line with the axle of the wheel at a 45-60° angle. That way it can turn without colliding as it will pivot around the contact patch if the wheel, where the sensor is located.

Kan here's a idea ,make a 10000 part series on how to make a computer learning robot in scrap mechanic ,just kidding ,but an other ,actually real ,idea: make a series where you (or somebody else) makes a challenge (like make a automated robot that clips up on these stairs (but then way harder of course by for example making the steps different sizes) ,and then giving them a week to build ,then the winner gets a point or something and then just have like a pasive scoreboard after each episode so you know who's the best scrap mechanic nerd ,ehmmm I mean scrap mechanic programmer! but all jokes aside ,a scrap mechanic week long logic challence could be a good idea ,then of course the winners is the guy who can create the machinism that can get the best average time over 3 runs (so that somebody doesn't get extremely unlucky/lucky and instantly wins/loses because of a glitch)

Putting the sensor behind the wheel and angling it forward about 15-45 degrees might keep it from getting caught on the corners while keeping the turning tight

So basically a Windows 98 screensaver bot. Amazing! As for logic suggestions, i need a system for a build that's basically a compass. I have tried using a gyro, but it's rather bulky. Are there smaller systems in vanilla Survival that can do that? My project is basically a waypoint bot. It drives until it sees a marker, then based on color of said marker it should turn 90 degrees left or right (since there are practically no diagonal roads in Survival), then goes until it sees another marker. And while i have built a great waypoint system already, it relies on always 'seeing' the next marker, so they can't be further than 15-20 apart. And at that point, just make it follow a line since it will take less materials to make a line than those special markers. But that's boring because it has been done before. I want to make something that is really 'cheap' to 'program'. Now that i think of it though, even my existing system could make for a neat forest clear cutter since trees are usually close together.

@falin9557
@falin9557 3 жыл бұрын
It's can be even more simple: front sensor and side sensor (left, for example) Back engine moves foward Left engine moves left backwards Right engine moves right engine backwards So if you activate back and left, it pivots on the left wheel Front sensor activate right and left sensor NOT activate left (of course, if you use right sensor, it activates right and front sensor activate left) One logic gate, a NOT

For your survival world in scrap mechanic. Try to create a Self Destruct button somewhere in the treehouse/base so if like 5 red bots get to your base you have a plan b and will destroy them (hopefully) but have some sort of survival start recovery pack that wont get destroyed so you can re-start with some materials with no red bots trying to destroy you.

This was a very fun video, I'd also love to see a self-rearraging maze using logic Kan I imagine one way would be setting up a large flat base where walls could raise up from or be lowered into the ground with pistons, and then use logic gates and sensors to add more variation to it, either way it would be very complicated.
@nikkiofthevalley
@nikkiofthevalley 2 жыл бұрын
The problem with that is, the maze has to be solvable. And (I think) that's an NP-Hard problem, meaning it's really, *really* difficult to compute efficiently, as the time to compute goes up exponentially as with the scale of the problem. (In this context, the size of the maze)

I've thought about making an arduino lol. Using the modpack though, not trying to make raw logic gate circuits. Memory blocks and number blocks. I got a cpu working that could manage memory and execute instructions and jump around in memory and stuff, and obviously do I/O as well as you care to develop. Fun stuff :) Maybe an offshoot of my making a DOS clone on my graphing calculators back in highschool that used string variables as their disks and executables :P Silliness.

WHO THE CRAP PUT MY SCREEN SAVER BACK ON THE DUMB MAZE!?! Oh, wait. . . . Here's an idea kAN, make a larger maze that's a bit more complex, like a second story, and then apply this maze solving logic to one of your "duck/chicken" walkers with a shorter and slower stride. I think the smoother movement would make it easier on the time it takes, the suspension glitched steering would make the steering logic tricky, but easy, and put a small amount of grip on the ends of the feet and you got a new maze runner.
