I Built a Torpedo Launching Submarine! (Scrap Mechanic Gameplay)

Back again with more Scrap Mechanic! Today we are looking at an epic torpedo launching submarine! This submarine can hold 6 torpedoes and launch them automatically! Each torpedo will travel on its own and explode on contact with any ships in it's path!

Kan, you really need to play From the Depths. You'd be able to do so much more with custom subs and torpedoes in that game. It also handles things like balance and buoyancy much better. Failing that, you should do some Multiplayer Monday games with your torpedoes. Maybe a sub-hunt challenge with two man teams, where one player drives the sub and the other handles the torpedoes?

Fun Multiplayer Monday Idea: A Submarine battle where someone can fire torpedos out of a hidden (and explosive) sub while the others are on a ridiculously slow boat armed with turrets, but there are also floating explosives acting as underwater mines that are placed around inside a watery arena.

A great idea for MM, one person in a boat, three people in the sub. There is a commander who can actually see, a driver who drives the sub, and an operator who loads and fired the torpedo.

Suggestions: Rack the torpedoes backwards to reduce the reload time. Weld tool lets you ignore the physics of turning the weapon. Use sensors to track how many torpedoes are onboard for ballast corrections.

Quick tip, change the orientation of the extra torpedoes so that the weldpoint is facing the front of the sub. That way you don't have to move to reload, which saves quite a bit of time.

Put intercontinental ballistic missiles in the back and equip it with sonar. *Multiplayer Monday suggestion* For multiplayer Monday do 2v2 boats vs submarines. The boat is a 2 crew cargo ship with depth charges, machine guns and 4 intercontinental ballistic missiles , their goal is to get the cargo ship and its cargo of “white powder” and “tree leaves” from the starting port to the finishing port The submarine needs 2 crew and is equipped with torpedoes, machine guns and 4 intercontinental ballistic missiles. Their goal is to sink the cargo ship and stop it from transporting the “substances”

I did suggest about a month or so ago a multiplayer suggestion based around torpedos. Y'all would have to build a sub to carry then fire it at some targets, and the aim of the challenge was to see how was fastest. If you ran out of ammo you'd have to go to a dock of sorts, rearm, then go back. As an added challenge you could have 1 target moving from 1 side of the water to the other.

16:15 no, it’s scrap mechanic, i get that glitch a lot. when something is neutrally buoyant (or close to it) it’s start to nose dive or pitch back and not straighten out

MM idea 1st idea:2 players on 1 side have to defend a certain amount of ships The other team has to destroy those ships with torpedoes and 2 spud guns , once they destroy them they switch sides and the team with the least amount of time wins 2nd idea: the same as the idea above but the difference is that both teams have to defend their own ships You can make submarines with a anti-torpedo mechanism. MM challenge, one person is using the sub and has to sink a cargo ship piloted by the other two. If the game allows, have one of the others in a small boat to drop explosives on the sub.

MM Idea: one sub vs. two boats The sub would have two people. One to drive, one to reload. the boats would be timed on how long they can last against the torpedos. The building part is the custom boats to escape the torpedos. You would have to find a max amount of thrusters to use to limit the escape boat speed. Maybe on a cost I’m map with deep enough water so the sub could completely disappear from sight.

Pretty cool, the torpedoes kinda dwarf the sun I feel, so I think the addition of more gadgets on board would be good, because it would lessen the difference in buoyancy after launching a torpedo. A vertical torpedo would be cool too, and maybe rather than just exploding on impact, it could explode when it reaches the surface too. Mines would also be cool to add, possibly with buoyant and non-buoyant versions

Scrapmechanic physics does bug out after sometime! The more complicated the vehicle the faster it bugs out! The cardboard and spudgun launching blocks glitch triggers it pretty quick too!

I mean, those episodes do take time to make. Survival in scrap mechanic is VERY grindy, and does take a decent while to accomplish things. In addition to that, he also has to edit the videos as well. Editing can also take a little while, depending on several things.

You shoulda add some lighting in the submarine, it's pretty dark. Oh and also maybe some suspension glitches on the submarine, as long as (maybe) It won't mess up the mechanism.

Hey kan , maybe you can add a vacuum pump at the end of the torpedo holder to place bubble blocks when the torpedo is detached , which needs to be as buoyant as the torpedo , so that your weight will remain the same even when you fire all your torpedos , also I love that you're doing fun logic stuff again 😀

2v2, one person drives for each team, while the sub has a gunner/loader and the boat has a lookout. maybe make a course the cargo ship has to cruise and have spots the sub has to go to for reloading purposes

nice build. the sinking issue that occur , happens when you have a large surface like bubble plast,then it calculate it as 1 object. also why it can float in a 45`angle. if you divide it like with a wooden cross in middle so you have 4 bubble plast squares , then it works way better. scrap physics XD

for a single person sub needs a few changes like the torpedoes need to have the removable block closer to the seat so there is less movement but this would be cool for a MM with each having their own sub build within your own time but, BUT you have to build a boat to drive around with guns on it either side that can't be usuable in the driver seat

Individual wood pieces from destroyed boats actually float by themselves irl too. Crazy I know. The only thing that would make this better is if we could make metal boats float through water displacement. Edit: you could make the torpedos not affect the sub's buoyancy by making them have a bit of concrete on their bottom when they are on the sub ( which would be attached on them by a cardboard piece), but get's deattached after they get fired. Only problem with that would be the concrete piece on the ocean floor after firing. I suppose you could find a solution to that.

Just a tip if you read this Kon in the beginning whenever you were demonstrating the torpedo you said the whole sonar is gone just as a tip the correct word is the whole center consul just so that you don’t slip up in the future just trying to help out
