You should make a version 2.0 for this! 1: Add remote control for the winch. 2: Add a pivot hinge above the magnet so you can adjust the view angle! (you probably need to add a weight to the paracord piece so it acts as a counterweight if you want to pivit the phone)

THIS!!!! I am sporting a bruise on my cheek from dropping the corner of my phone into my face while I was falling asleep. This is a much needed product, you should go viral and you will make a ton of cash. I was totally with you until the magnet because I cannot get my case off & on that’s why I don’t use the chargers like that. Couldn’t you just make something where a pop socket just slips into it? I mean then you could pitch it to pop socket and they could sell it and you could make a ton of money.

People commenting about the cord being a charger probably don't realize that it would break in no time. Even on normal charging cables, they're constantly fraying internally. That's why you should bend them as little as possible.

This is a neat little invention. But there is a missed opportunity here. If your going to use a magnetic charger, why not set it up to charge the phone while your watching something on it. I mean how frustrating is it to be in the middle of your favorite Unnecessary video and have your battery low warning come on? Also, here's an idea for an invention. Something that will lock a wall wart into a receptacle (If it's for a house plug it could be integrated into a wall socket cover plate). And something that will lock a USB plug into a wall wart. I'm forever trying to plug in my phone in only to have to go back to where the cable is plugged in and having to reset the plugs. Zip ties just slide off. Ask me how I know. Anyhow, loving the channel. You've gained my subscription.

Salute to the fallen invention photo. Edit: add the ability to maybe to also control it with a remote or something or maybe a paired app with the phone. And ive seen the idea of how the paracord should've been a charging cable and while i do agree, that would be actually difficult to acquire a long enough cable for such a thing and string it to an outlet without it ripping itself out of the wall.

Hello There, I've been looking for a motor like that. I've been wanting to use a similar concept but for a door handle where the motor would pull the handle up to open the door for someone in my classroom (door locks from outside, but stays unlocked on the other.) so I wouldn't have to walk all the way across the room or get a student to open it. We are required to have the doors locked the whole time, but it gets pretty annoying to have someone open it every time someone comes in. Curious if you've made like a button controlled door opener (maybe even wireless like a blue tooth connected one?) before if you have any tips for me, or a list of the electronics you used, that would be awesome. My Idea seems like a very Unnecessary invention, especially since I can just keep the door propped open and close it if we need a lock down, but just thought it would be fun.

After watching this I thought it was actually a good idea, so made one XD but instead of paracord I used fishing line(to be less noticeable), instead of 3d printing a pulley I just used eyelet screws(and I used more than one to go along the wall), and instead of a motor I just made a small hand-crank pulley system(I didn't want to bother changing batteries from time to time or come up with a way to be powered by an outlet)
