This is why I LOVED my 4 track cassette Recorders....YES CASSETTE...I AM A BOOMER AND 52 YEARS OLD....BUT those old tape machines had a charm all their own....And NO manuals required. Also they have Jack spray lubricants for the jacks and some time may make those Jacks smoother for you.

I love mine. It's a great little unit for getting down some quick ideas. I need to spend more time with it though. I believe after getting more used to it, I could really build up a full fledged production on it. The only beef I have is the limited efx and like you noted, those jacks are really hard to come out.

That Rodecaster 2 is MEAN! I thought the first one was dope but they really took it to another level. The R20 is a good concept, but the quality is pretty bad. Hopefully they make a more premium version for a couple hundred more, it would be worth paying extra for better hardware.

Im trying to use the r20 as audio interface with my iphone. To record videos live with the r20 audio. I have the apple cable with usb-c one side and the other classic iphone down center input (used mainly to charge, but now been used as audio input too). I already used with my pc and and the audio was recorded but with some problems that i though was my need to learn and ajust the audio input and configuration. the cable is a apple usb c. when i record at the iphone, there is no r20 audio, only iphone audio as always. You already tried record with iphone?

Wussup bro, we live in the same city…… I was really surprised you had the R-20, My MPC Live and R20 is set up on desk the same way😆. I’ve brought the R20 a couple of months ago and used it a few times, I wanted to use it more, but got spoiled by using wireless devices. The fact that I have to plug 🔌 it, I forget to use it. I brought this, because I’m a gear junkie ☺️, I always wanted something like this, But my iPad does this already.

@labandlegacy2 ай бұрын
@@duelavemedia3565 I don’t think it’s a good platform for that. It’s more of a quick way to get multiple tracks laid down, like with a live band or a podcast. Personally I would export the WAVs to a computer to mix. There are so many DAW options now including free ones like Reaper that have much better features for mixing and effects.
@MrCosmicVictory2 жыл бұрын
what turns me off about this is each track is only mono. Would be dope to arrange 8 tracks with 8 faders upfront without changing banks. Zoom is onto something though, i hope they improve these models
@labandlegacy2 жыл бұрын
You can turn any track stereo and it will assign to 1 fader.
@MrCosmicVictory2 жыл бұрын
@@labandlegacy I seen how you can link 2 faders, but 4 stereo tracks still takes up 1 bank (8 faders) if im correct. If they perfect these models, we wont need a daw as much to "track things out"

Okay on a serious note. What is the point in something like this? Something like recording live input such as say a drummer to take back into the mpc and load as a sample file. I personally was using the Mackie pro FX 10 with the mpc one about 8 months ago. Trying to get back ahold of gear my old roommate sold my shit when I was out of town.
@labandlegacy2 жыл бұрын
It’s a very affordable way to record up to 8 tracks at a time. I can’t think of a more affordable way honestly. If someone absolutely refuses to use a computer it’s technically a self-contained studio, but personally I would rather use an iPad as a mobile DAW.

@@kevinjolly2299 It is definitely not intuitive, and the error messages that pop up provide absolutely no clue on what you need to do fix whatever it is you are attempting. Can you sync a Korg volca Sample 2 with the r20 or r12? I feel like that would be an ideal daw-less Setup for me because then i can use the volca as a drum machine plugged into the r20/12 and hopefully have them synced together. Or does it work just fine having the BPMs matched on both units like you have in the video, and then just trying to hit "play" on the Volca when the R20 starts recording, also like you did in the video?

Comparing R20 buttons, jacks etc to your Akai MPC? You're one bias dude. All that has nothing to do with the R20's simplicity and functionality. Oh oh only one headphone jack? Seriously? Try comparing it to another multi track not a MPC.
@labandlegacy9 ай бұрын
The jacks and buttons have nothing to do with it's functionality? 🤣 Did you read that before you hit send? I compared the feel of the components to the other piece of gear that was right in front of me. If I compared it to the Mackie DLZ Creator that I have on the desk now it would have seemed even more cheap. I've owned cheap digital recorders since the early 2000s. They serve a purpose, but they're not worth defending on KZbin my guy. They all fall apart and get tossed in the trash or donated to Goodwill.
