MPC-61 is a cheap version which in reality is the full version The only difference is MPC X SE has more live knobs but if you’re not using samples and recording live midi events than MPC-61 hands down 😊

Nice video man, do you have any tips with the q-links? I'm looking to buy my 4th MPC (MPC X SE) and I feel like I've abandoned the q-link functionality on my 2500, meaning I've basically been using my 2500 just like my 2000XL I want to get in the habit of utilizing these q-links into my workflow. @@chadwaldron3594 for sure. The cool thing about the 2.xx firmware is the Links change based on the screen you're on. I use them for sample editing a lot so I recommend building your muscle memory with them instead of using the touch screen. I also use them a lot for changing quantize settings on the fly. I never use the quantize screen it's super slow, I just adjust the QLinks based on which instrument I'm using. For instance I'll switch quantize to 1/16th at 50% strength for hihats and drums, bump it to 80% to pay the sample chops, then quickly switch it off (using a Qlink) to do basslines off the grid. It's a really fast system and once you get used to it you really fly laying down your tracks.

This thing is really dope. Started on Mpc 2000 in 1995…. Came back in with FL3, used everything in between, this thing and my Mac is all I use now. It’s perfect. Except for the touch effects master channel thing but glitcher2 works great instead.

Your intro story is similar to my own in terms of MPC journey. I got my first MPC 2000 around 1998. Having a DJ background, I wanted to do remixes and new songs. I already had a 4-track cassette recorder and 30-sec sampler. So the 2K was an upgrade. Long story short, it kept me out of the streets but gave me street cred at the same time. Iv only got the 8 free plug ins hype tube synth electric drum synth solina mellotrone bassline odyssey i still having loaded my free plug in gonna so it this week but i own 4 hardwear synths and 3 keyboards and a few other samplers and drum machine so iv got plenty sounds iv only got the one expansion pack too but i sample alot of stuff from vinyl youtube and other hardware so im not to fused about plug ins iv got enough sounds so use what u got is my moto ...all buy stems as its cheap af but stuff like jura is a bit pricey think all pick that as my free plug in cause its a juno clone and i love them sounds iv got a little roland chord synth based on the juno the j6 and it sound beautiful iv not actually used it with tge mpc yet as iv only had the mpc two weeks

Thanks man! Sold! Like you I have been looking for months for something 6.5-7" that will help with car and real world translation. I have hr824 mk1's and ns-10m's with a sub, and have had the back and forth problem for all 25 yrs in the studio. The ns10's need to go away now. These will be a fine replacement although they'll be sitting awful close to the wall with the glass. We shall see. I'll keep the sub with them. 👍

@@duelavemedia3565 I don’t think it’s a good platform for that. It’s more of a quick way to get multiple tracks laid down, like with a live band or a podcast. Personally I would export the WAVs to a computer to mix. There are so many DAW options now including free ones like Reaper that have much better features for mixing and effects.
