honestly, even if they really call you, _YOU_ should tell them that youre hanging up and calling back. Then look up the real IRS number just incase. if theres a problem, theyll have it on file My mom got a scam-looking letter from a bank saying an account was made in her name and she owed money. She felt it was weird and asked me/my dad. We looked up the number online and the phone number was different than the one in the letter. We called and they said there was nothing weird on their end But the thing was the timing was crazy. My mom _had_ just made an account that month so it did almost feel legit, except everything was good to go so owing money made no sense. So if she wasnt vigilant, it could have easily fallen into a scam

When it's not that stupid at all... First of, victim blaming is never the right way to go about it, but second of, that's not like a 'obvious scam' in any way. They have your info, personal details like family, your location, it's an authority in the 'IRS', so you're not exactly gonna easily risk questioning it... It's just always so sad listening to QT beat herself up about 'falling for such an obviously scam', when she has nothing to feel embarrassed about... QT!!! Stop beating yourself up about it dude. You did the natural thing. The amount of people who would NOT have reacted like you is so small it’s insignificant. You are human! And you could’ve potentially ended up in a much much worse situation. We’re all just glad your here and alive to tell the story. No one blames you, stop blaming yourself. Thank God you’re OK though.

That was so much better than I expected. I usually don't like picking up the phone or responding to random number texts and emails. I'm so glad you shared that story so I can always keep it in mind for my friends and I as we continue through uni and going forward. That story was scary. The call was very funny, it had me laughing a lot.

I LOVED most of this (except for your horrific story). I really hope nothing like that ever happens to you again! It sucks that people treat each other like pieces of meat. But this was a really fun video to watch! You two did great here! :)

Hi :) came from Kit community, and must say that you are so awesome QT! So adorable! And you behaves so naturally, absolutely loved it! And so sorry to hear about your story! 😯 But please don't be embarrassed or blame yourself, mental manipulation is one of scammers goals, don't give the superiority to them! 💕

One thing I learned about scam victims from Atomic Shrimp: Anyone can be a victim. Just because 1 scam didn't sound plausible to you, it may to someone else. I almost fell for one saying I didn't pay my final month's rent. I was so scared that I even called my ex, who I had a restraining order against, and my old apartment complex. I was so frightened at that moment because I was out of money and no help, but finally the next day I got through to my old apartment and they said nothing was wrong on their end. Worst day ever passing by and thinking I would be arrested and have to explain to my family what happened. I can see, especially with QT's boss also being worried, how she was almost trafficked.
