I came to this house EVERY WEEK for a MONTH til I was FINALLY able to help out

My wife and I found this lawn about a month ago and have knocked on the door multiple times with no answer. I spoke with a few neighbors and they said that someone lives there. So, I kept knocking on different days and different times of the day but had no luck. Finally, the homeowner answered and it turns out he had been out of town. I offered to cut his yard completely free for him and he was stunned with my request. It's also has never been edged before and had a ton of hidden sidewalks throughout the lawn that made it really satisfying. Overall, the transformation was amazing and the homeowner was so happy with the result!

I don't know the owners story or situation (besides what you shared). But if this was my property and you offered to do this for free, I would either need to help you or pay you. I could not in good conscience let you do all this work for free. It's so amazing that you do. I know from working on my own lawn that this is SO. MUCH. HARD. LABOR. @@heehaw8401 A lot of the people he helps probably are able-bodied. I'm in my 60s and have some health issues but I still keep my yard mowed and weeds trimmed down. It may take me longer than it would someone younger and healthier. Before I could afford my riding mower I asked around until I found someone who I afford to hire to mow my yard once a week, the retired gentleman I found gave me a break on the price when I said I would do my own trimming and edging. There is always a way. Maybe a neighbor has a kid who wants to make some extra cash and would mow it. I think it's sad for the neighbors who keep their yards looking good. When I was house hunting I wouldn't even look at homes if the neighbor's yards look neglected.

In this property I got the idea there is an able bodied young man at the address ? He may be just saying help yourself on behalf of the owner? But how much disregard for the condition of the grounds we see you rectifying is basically staggering that the guy allowed it to fall into such disrepair. At least I can be certain that you did an outstanding recovery on the place. And seeing how much can be done in a day I am probably just a little too surprised to offer a reasonable explanation of how good it looks to see the neighbourhood lifted so far above the hovill it had come to make the entire area appear!

Most amazing clean up, Mr. SB! What a relief for the neighbors. Which door was the resident using to enter the house??? And I've never seen a tree blocking a back door. Again, the size of this property is astounding, as in Southern California where we live, a lot that size would be worth many millions. And we are in a neighborhood of older (1960's built) family homes. I pray this resident will contact SB mowing to schedule weekly yard care, at least for the sake of the neighbors. I've learned over my many years that just about any one can mow grass and I have come to the realization that is is not seing the mowers mow, why I watch. Yes, I know that KZbin pays them through the videos, but it is the heart and soul of these guys like Spencer (and Al Bladez, Kevin Hansen, and others) who's step up to help people in need and I've never seen them critize anyone. They could just as easily do videos for plush estates, and also get paid by those customers (as well as KZbin (double-dip)), but they don't and this is what impresses me the most and inspires me to be a better person. I appericate Spencer as a good person with a great heart!

I think some of these homeowners take advantage of Spencer's hard work and kindness - this homeowner looked like he could have done his own yardwork - I do my own yardwork and I'm 72 with a large yard.

This homeowner was never home because he was traveling uhhh? So he must be making money because traveling is not cheap. If he travels for work he gets paid. Meter reading is done by radio frequency nowadays, it's much more cost effective to have someone drive up and down the streets than to employ a few dozen to walk by every house.

My neighbour and I are both 71. We dont have huge lawns but we take it in turns to mow the grass out front. Sometimes takes me a couple of hours but its such a feeling of achievement when I am finished!! We are lucky to still be able to do this as we both have health issues. You do do an amazing job.
