I literally posted the day before the announcement that I was still holding out hope they would bring Xenoblade Chronicles X to the Switch or New Switch and I would then replay all the games. I then woke up the next morning and saw emails to preorder Xenoblade Chronicles X Definitive Edition - I THOUGHT I WAS DREAMING! I thought of you instantly as well, I've watched all your playthroughs of the Xenoblade games. I love the series just as much and I am so happy!

As someone who has X as their favorite in the series and one of my favorite games of all time, my biggest recommendation to anyone trying X for the first time: play it like Zelda Majora's Mask. If you only go through the main story, it's cool, but will feel short or incomplete. If you do the side content though, it feels like an entire living, breathing world with tons of people having their own lives and stories. THAT'S where the meat is; it's basically a single-player MMO (but it *actually* feels like it was designed with that in mind). In many respects, the sidequests ARE the story. Many sidequests directly correlate with what happens in main story events, and it's the only Xeno game to have a legit post-game with quests that take place AFTER the story and acknowledge the final boss' defeat. They're great, and you'll get so much more out of the game if you do them!! Really hope you enjoy your time with it when it comes out, Sarah!!

The ending of the trailer especially shows they're expanding on the original game. You should be fine for the most part, though! If they DO tie it in, it's most likely gonna just be something at the end you can just look back on if you play the others.

I remember them saying back in 2018 that porting or remastering X would've been too expensive. The fact that X is finally now being remastered in a similar vein to 1's Definitive Edition not only makes it so the entire Xenoblade series is on the Switch, but also proves just how insanely successful Xenoblade DE, Xenoblade 3 and Future Redeemed were. I actually hate Future Redeemed, simply because it's just too friggin hard to play, even harder than Xenoblade 2. So I just watched the story online and found that where I finally quit was very much close to the end, making me even more disappointed.

I love that Nintendo lets them cook. While the fan base has grown a lot over the years we aren't the size of some other fan bases. Other publishers would try to raise their sales by trying to appeal to as wide of an audience as possible. Reducing the game to it's most common denominator. Which always screws with whatever made people love a franchise to begin with. Nintendo has let Monolithsoft do their thing though and while that means Xenoblade won't ever do numbers like Pokemon, Mario, or Zelda, it has rewarded Xenoblade a DEDICATED fan base. We'll buy anything Xenoblade related. While Nintendo isn't perfect I have to recognize when they've done the right thing. And the right thing is accepting that a great game isn't always loved by everybody.

I’d even say the exploration in X is the most fun since it’s one huge, interconnected open world (also the largest Nintendo world ever created) with a lot of verticality! Without Spoilers, So about the story of Xenoblade X, theres a very good story. Its just that its told in parts instead of a full concise narrative.its definitely side quest heavy. I would suggest having a small journal to take some story notes whenever story parts happen. Only cus its one of those stories that requires alot of remembering. Like its not going to spoon-feed you the story like many JRPGs do. It'll give to bits and pieces as you progress. The main point of the story is to explore the world and uncover the mysteries and uncover bits of the main story as you go along. Another fun fact, Xenoblade X technically has a larger map than BotW. BotW has more landmass but X has a huge map. Lots to explore 😊

The funny thing is even with X landmass, id say the actual size is similar to BOTW map or even little bigger if you take into account overall player movement speed between the two games with Xs characters movement is way faster in the overworld compared to link in BOTW. But yea the last point still stands, lots to explore and more glorious music to listen to

It's VERY side quest focused, similar to Majora's Mask if you've played that, if you just blitz through the main game the experience won't be great, you really gotta sink your teeth into the side content to get the full experience.

It’s funny how I was the opposite. I gave up, pretty much no hope in this getting a switch version, and yesterday at the orthodontist, I was violently shaking. And I mean shaking. I was overwhelmed with excitement I wanted to cry. This game means the world to me, and is the catalyst for so many things I love in my life outside of video games as well. I love that cutscene. Elma introducing NLA, Cassandra Lee Morris narrating. Really sets the stage for the adventure we're about to go on. And I didn't play either. Just watched amounts of cutscenes and some of the walkthroughs. Also another thing that stands this game out from the others is that its English VA is American rather than European.

Main story is just the most important sidequest, because EVERITHING you choose to do in Xeno X is important, every "major" sidequest is just pure white gold! It really feels like you just playing priorities in order to improve humanity's chances of survival. A very interesting game

Its even more crazy that any time Chuggaaconroy did anything Xenoblade Chronicles related something big for Xenoblade happened... with his first play through Shulk got revealed in smash, with XC2 let's play we got Pyra/Mythra in smash, with his Future connected play through completed recently of Future redeemed we got this announcement... Now we wait for his LP of XC3 to see when we may get a XC4 announcement if this trend continues

It's crazy that this is a port, and it still looks more impressive than many of Nintendo's Switch games. The series as a whole is the most visually impressive thing on the Switch. Especially with all the giant machines, multiple massive maps, just so much stuff to do. I wish it was my type of game, but I hope it continues to do well, and I'll be watching you play for sure.

XCX is literally one of my favourite games of all time. I've been waiting for this remaster for so long by this point that it honestly caught me off guard when it was actually announced, thinking it was a meme post at first XD But yeah I love almost everything about this game, music, characters...I'm not as attached to the main story as much but the side-quests really are the heart of this game imo (much like a certain N64 Zelda game). Looking forward to seeing so many try it for the first time!

Xenoblade X is one of the best games I've played to just lose yourself in. Yes, the main story ain't as fleshed out as the numbered games (Definitive is adding more story content), but the world, exploration, and side content is the best in the series imo. Can't wait, I hope the Switch 2 comes out close to it!

Beating XBC3 and its DLC will be nigh impossible but X is an entirely different beast. I'm also in the lucky position to not have played it yet, people describe it like the prototype to Breath of the Wild, as you can basically go anywhere and there is no fall damage, so you are invited to risk a jump to an unknown territory once in a while. By the way, the hooded guy at the end... is a scene... well I won't spoil it, but it seems like it is a wink at X veterans, that there will be additional story content.

You absolutely heard right. X is more side story focused than its main story. It’s like a 6/10 story. But the world building?? Omg, it awoke something in me and made me want to 100% X. Out of all of Xenoblade, I think it’s the best in the series for world building and MUSIC too!! It has a lot to live up to now that’s it’s alongside the rest of Xenoblade series on Switch. Most optional way to play X is using the Wii U gamepad for gameplay reasons. Although that might change depending on what they did with the definitive version. But Gamepad actually has a very good use because of things involving the world map.

I put 380+ hrs in XCX. It's my favorite in the series. I recommend to do every single side story. It adds a lot of context to the mysteries of Mira. Also do not rush to get your Skell. There is also transmog armor skins to cover up the ugly mix match armor pieces when you do certain builds. Ether Blossom Dance build is really fun and you should try to learn it.

The other day I was listening to a Xeno guy and he was saying that Xenoblade and Kingdom Hearts might as well be sister franchises (not actual, but spiritually), and about Takahashi-san and Nomura-san being buddy-buddies - let's not forget that the Torna guys from base XC2 were designed by Tetsuya Nomura himself.

X is really good. it's my personal favorite Xenoblade. It's really fun, but, I really hope the Switch version gets some much needed QoL enhancements. It was kind of hard to go back to after playing XC1 DE. I am ready to lose another 300 hours to this game. and it's not that the story is not good, but the main quests aren't where all the story is contained. most of the story is in the side quests. if you ONLY do main story quests, it'll seem kind of shallow. you have to dive into the side stories to really get a good appreciation for it

It's not massive, because you only connect with 31 other players but you don't actually see them playing in the world, only NPC versions of them you can recruit temporarily. You can do 4 players battle missions, but 4 is far from "massive".
