I usually do pool based survival levels (including endless) with cat tails (two or four) winter melons, tall nuts, magnet shrooms, spike rock, twin sunflowers, one row, and a LOT of pumpkins. The pumpkins are for the miners and imp zombies(thrown by gargantuas). However, twice now on survival endless I’ve gotten either crippled or killed at the 24th flag. Cattail is useful against strong zombies but completely useless against a horde of zombies. Starfruit is a lot more cheaper, and you can spam those. Not only that, but it can attack from 5 directions, making it useful against both strong zombies and hordes of zombies. And since Detara is playing on Fog Survival *(Hard),* Starfruit is the most suitable plant for it.

People underrestimate how underwhelming cat tail is in the later waves. Cattail is good when zombie density is low hence why its good in minigames and adventure mode. But in Survival gamemodes, cattails are gonna barely do anything because the game is gonna spam hard zombies that counter it like bucket heads, screen doors, footballs and even coneheads. Starfruit shines more than cattail when there are more zombies because it is way cheaper, faster recharge and can be planted on land. I hope i cleared up why cattail sucks in survivals for most of the part.

Sun-wise, it’s only a challenge for daytime levels because you can’t use Sunflower and if you use Sun-Shroom, he’ll be asleep. What’s worse is that you can’t use Coffee Bean to wake him up.

Challenge idea: survival day (hard). You can plant in one row either horizontally or vertically. Whenever you want to change rows, you have to delete all the plants in the current row. I doubt you will do this because it seems to be impossible.

chess challenge: play on pool (hard). you can only have ONE sunflower (king) and should be protected at all costs. if the king dies, you lose. you can have only ONE melon pult (queen). It should be your strongest plant here (no winter melons). only two fume shrooms (rook) are allowed. the pawns are puff shrooms. no imitators. this is not supposed to be challenging and rather a fun challenge. if you could think of more plants to represent chess pieces, go ahead!

Any Survival, but only plants that have one real life equivalent that is edible. Starfruit, peashooter, technically you can use sunflower, and I'm pretty sure Doom Shroom is based off an edible mushroom. Plants like Chomper, Flower Pot, Lily Pad, and Tall nut (It is a copy of wall nut which is not one real life equivalent), and cactus are not allowed.

plants vs zombies nuzlocke if a plant gets eaten by a zombie once, u cant use it for the following levels any remaining remnant of that same plant, you have to shovel em up (i.e if a sunflower gets eaten, u cant use sunflowers anymore, any sunflowers remaining in the lawn must be shoveled)
