Hi Nora always a joy to see you. So special to hear about your stitch and pitch outing with your Dad. My sons are Met fans but my Dad was a die hard Yankee fan. Your cardigan looks amazing and your Messi crochet dress looks great. Can't wait to see the final product. Enjoyed the great outdoors with my knitting projects.

The Messi dressy is SUCH a fun idea! I bet you get lots of comments and compliments on it! I’d never heard of a stitch ‘n pitch so I looked it up and it seems that many different ballparks have them throughout the year. I bet they don’t all come with such a great goodie bag though! Still it’s a fun idea…I’ll have to try to get to one!
@akaNoraKnits4 ай бұрын
Thank you!! I think it'll be really fun!! Definitely worth getting to a stitch 'n pitch event if they have one in your area! I definitely think we lucked out with the generosity of the goodie bags, but even without, it's a fun time!!

Hello Nora-Yvonne in Detroit, Michigan. Gr8 episode 2day. The long cardigan is coming along nicely, I’m also loving the Crochet Dress. -Messy Dressy. Stitch & Pitch would have bee a great thing 2 go 2 if I was still living in Brooklyn, New York… I’m glad that you & your Dad were able 2 go & experience that! 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾

I think you sold me on going to a stitch and pitch. A friend invited me to one later in the summer and I wasn’t sure I wanted to go, but it sounds like a fun time! And I’m really excited to see the finished Messi Dressi! The creativity to come up with the idea and actually execute it is impressive.

I went to a couple Stitch N Pitch events at Dodger's stadium in LA in the mid 2000s, its nice to hear that some teams are still hosting those events. I'm not close to any major league teams anymore and our local minor league team hasn't had one historically but I wonder if I could encourage a local group to get one started.

Thanks for your comments on the carbons by knitters pride. They are a bit more cost wise and I had been hmming and haaing about buying a set of 3.5mm tips since that’s the size I use the most but just wasn’t certain if it was worth the cost. I’ll save my money and stick with my current zing tips which connect nicely and don’t catch or one of my gorgeous wooden tips. Your community service is appreciated. I just realized you coukd use what is called “woolly nylon” which is used on sergers when you want something clear to finish edges with or to finish seams. It would work really well for zig zagging your granny squares together plus no problem with which color thread to use.

I have a HYPOTHETICAL pick-up stitches POTENTIAL short-cut idea: would it work to run waste yarn (or try-it on tubing thru the last stitch (right after you knit it) to keep a sort of easy to see SPACE to help w picking up all those stitches. I haven't had to pick up stitches much, but with that super-long edge for the button band, thought keeping all those last stitches on a holder (waste yarn or try-it-on tubing) would make it easier to see each stich & thus get into each for pick-up easier too. Try-it on tubing might be too thick. May be more time/trouble than it's worth. Thoughts?

I like reading the comments from your talented community. However, I'm going straight to the point. Someone probably suggested this already. I think you could consider using that new acrylic for the pocket lining. It's light and will probably not result in a heavy, bulky fabric. If you go down to a fingering weight, the lining will be like a mesh. If you don't mind that, then I would go for some cheap fingering yarn.
@akaNoraKnits4 ай бұрын
You may have read my mind!! I just found the perfect pocket yarn and I went for an acrylic blend! It was budget friendly and seems nice and hardy!!
