Hey did you know that Ironwood's semblance was reveled a few months ago it's called Mettle it allows Ironwood to strengthens his resolve which allows him to carry through with his decisions, helping James hyper-focus so basically Ironwood is using his semblance to give him tunnel vision allowing him to focus on getting atlas in to the sky even if he has to do things like shooting Oscar or Sleet who are getting in his way

As earlier comments said I think I just realized Cinder is a evil version of Cinderella and Salem is her fairy godmother. Instead of a prince she got recruited and most likely had her evil stepmother and family killed in revenge. At least that is now my theory.

True. All of the bad things that happened were mostly out of Ruby's hands (They're a bunch of teenagers facing off against armies of Grimm and Atlas). The most she could do is adjust her plans each time something happens. It's almost as if Ruby's situation is a parallel to what Ozpin experienced.

I really hope the heroes fail this Volume. Not because of stupid hater stuff about giving up on the show and rooting for Salem like some people talk about, but because this is set up as a darkest hour sort of situation and the story needs to deliver on that to keep a sense of dramatic tension and live up to the threat Salem is supposed to pose. I hope this turns out similar to Volume 3 as a way to re-establish the stakes and show that things aren't going to just work out for the heroes right off the bat. Salem is at their doorstep, they have no idea how to stop her while she is supposed to be leagues about all of them, and they are short on time and resources to get their plans off the ground. I just want to see major consequences and failures for the heroes to prove themselves against by struggling to overcome and learn from them instead of just pulling off a win through optimism and determination.

This episode does some really good things. It shows that while Yang still believes in Ruby shes in doubt her sister has what it takes after her decisions to not trust Ironwood until it was too late ended up fucking everyone over. Yang was like the only person wanting to trust him and for good reason. And as much as I said I wanted another When It Falls level Opening. I didn't expect one with imagery that would actually make me have anxiety issues.the girls falling into dark waters and pulled deeper by Grimm tendrils along with the words Happy Never After Again and ending on their weapons crashing to the ground is really stress inducing.

To be fair, Yang and Blake's decision to go behind everyone's back telling Robyn about Amity didn't help at all, but I feel you on that Ruby really should have told Ironwood the truth sooner, preferably during the time when everyone was getting their Huntsman and Huntress licenses, you could see he was more emotionally and mentally recovered from episode one at the time...and not dealing with being attacked over his position by Jacques, Penny being framed for a slaughter, and of course Robyn finding out about Amity without his permission. making him suspect someone told her classified secrets.

@@matthewriddle2698 to be fair, Yang only told Robyn because she was caught between wanting to trust him and her sister. The sad thing is it actually worked because it gave Robyn reason to believe Ironwood and trust in him bit as soon as Cinder played her mind game with the chess piece it unfortunately all came crashing down. Yang had the right idea to try and play both sides so nobody got wrongfully hurt but in the end it backfired. You can't even blame her because she's been lied to her whole life and not even almost two volumes ago she found out that not only had Ozpin not kept his word about no more lies, but he never really told them the truth to begin with and they were just the latest generation of throwaways to delay Salem. Many people say shes a hippocrite for not telling Ozpin about Raven but in all regards thats not hippocritical at all. That was a personal moment and telling people likely would have sidetracked them when they had more important things st the moment with the lamp. Compared to Ozpin just using everyone out of fear of being betrayed Yang knew that not telling James would likely lead to exactly where they are now and with her history of being lied to, withheld from truth she needed and manipulated to be others pawns its really tragic to see that she couldn't do more with what she had unless she wanted to betray the trust she had in her sister and her team.

@@daysand123 Fair, I'm not saying it didn't work out telling Robyn, but you can't expect their alliance to stick after that if he ever found out at the time, I certainly knew just at that moment. YUP, This is how their alliance will strain, if not break, given this is Atlas and Ironwood is not as forgiving of shit as Ozpin was of their...misadventures. But, again, you have a point and really I'm WITH Yang on her decisions and point in that Ruby's mindset is set on always going for the Hail Mary plays, over protecting those who need them right in front of them. Not to say anything is wrong with trying to get the message out, but...if the stadium was truly ready for launch, why not green light himself? I feel there is more to this that needs fixing in that global communications tower idea of his, than what Ironwood was willing to say. If it was me, I would try saving those who I could in the immediate area of Mantle with Yang honestly. The Happy Huntresses are only able to cover so much on their own, so go Jaune for being smart to split the large team into two small teams.

Most people I watch reacting seem to hate Yang any time she goes against what Ruby says or whenever she is not happy when Ozpin is brought up and as someone that deals with depression and feelings of being used that is irksome to be generous. Like looking at it from a human perspective Yang is right, and while yes Ruby may have the more straightforward goal, her plans are usually as you put it, Hail Mary's that bank on things working perfectly in a very convoluted way. Neither side is exactly perfect but Yang is the more practical and experienced sister regardless of being older. Ruby is way too altruistic and broad in her ideals and that can become costly when you think that wide without factoring in other aspects. Yang may be thinking smaller along with Ren but its also something more manageable and guaranteed to be helpful thanks to Jaune pointing out that there doesn't have to be one singular job. On a side note its interesting to see that Oscar isn't telling anyone about Ozpin being back yet not because he doesn't trust them but because he's discussing shit internally. Probably giving this guy a whole list of things to say and apologize for. I mean considering both RWBY and JNPR went through with taking the lamp to Atlas despite finding out the truth already spoke volumes to how his fear of trusting them with the whole story was misplaced. They were all rightly pissed but eventually decided they came too far to quit and pushed on without him. I still hope Yang gets her arm back while everyone fights for the staff cause that's the last little writing inconvenience from V3 that got downplayed that I think should just be nixed to make up for lost time. Can also play into some really crazy scenarios if we have the staff passing between multiple people as Atlas is falling and it creates something new in the chaos with each person it gets passed between. And completely unrelated note but if Raven decides to finally drag Tais ass through a portal to help and is wearing a new outfit very reminiscent of Vergil im going to be hearing a whole new overdose of Bury the Light meme influx.

@@daysand123 Believe it or not, I KNOW those feelings. I used to deal with the feelings of being used before and still deal with the struggle of dealing with depression. Not a major case for me, but...it's there and I have my own battles at times. So yeah, there is a reason I side with you on the whole people getting on Yang's case is a bit irksome as you said, though being generous. And thank you for understanding I would be like Yang in her plans, but while not hating Ruby's plans, I'm realistic enough to understand those Hail Mary plays are often too risky to just believe will always work without fail. Like humanity as a whole...are dumb, panicky, dangerous animals. Quoted by MiB, I know, but it's true and you know it I think. Yang has rights to want to do what seems more plausible a goal and save those she can, I would too. Also, I sincerely wish for a redemption arc for Raven to TRY to actually be strong and stand by her daughter's side with Tai to save Qrow, Yang, and Ruby.

I was in disbelief. I was waiting for the camera angle to shift and show both councilors cringing in fear and there to be a bullet hole in the wall between them; like a warning shot or something. But you can hear Sleet's body hit the floor, so that boy dead. But I suppose we shouldn't be surprised. Ironwood literally just executed Oscar (in his eyes, anyway; he doesn't know he survived the fall).

Hio did you notice that in the OP in the chesspart Salem has her figures turned in Grimm and lett atack and Ironwoods figures disappear and he stands alone on a singel field. After a whiele of thinking i have an theory what happen next (i´m not a first member so pleas don´t spoil if i right ore wrong) this new grimm (dog, bath or a kombination of both) will capture Oscar and imprisem hin in Salems place (in the op he is behind bars and threatened by Samen). with that Oscar has alsow enough time to talk with Oz and the crew needs to rescure him.

To be honest, I'm hoping for that. The show has built up the stakes and desperation of the current situation and the threat Salem poses, and if the heroes don't suffer some sort of major loss or defeat despite all that set up of the darkest hour tone they have approaching then it would wreck the dramatic tension and the villain's credibility for me. I don't want the heroes to solve this all and save everyone while succeeding in their other goa when it was set up how bad the situation is getting and how unlikely it would be to manage. I want to see them suffer failures and consequences that they can struggle against and overcome instead of just pulling out a win through optimism and determination.
