It's definitely not for those seeking a power fantasy. The road is long and hard for a rookie. The Zone cares for no one, but she does grant her blessings. The Dude abides. Alternately, you could always utilize the console and spawn in some good gear to help out while you learn the ropes. God mode, whatever. Play the way you want. For me, with the HUD off (occasional toggles) and no music, it's one of the most immersive experiences I've ever had with a game.
