As a pre-requisite you will need a set of basic tools or better. Do tasks and search stashes. Weapon cleaning kits repair parts, repair kits swap barrels and replace parts that you don't have or are too damaged. Sewing kits and glue repair components and armor's overall above certain thresholds. Armor repair kits swap parts to help reach those thresholds. Good luck out there, Stalker!

Its cool this game is getting played and appreciated by so many new players. I only really started into the whole mod aspect of STALKER like 2 years ago. Really awesome aesthetic and world building not to mention a sneaky gunsmithing simulator

I found this entertaining. Keep it up man. Also if you're new to GAMMA no shame in turning up your damage dealt by a bit in the game options I think there's a slider or something. I don't really remember what the setting is called exactly which is surprising as I have like 300 hours in the modpack over the last year doing hardcore runs and whatnot. OH ALSO another thing; Ammo types are super important here in the Zone. Mutant enemies can feel like they're ignoring your gunshots early game since you're usually kind of stuck with 9x18 FMJ and birdshot. But once you get HP rounds or a 12 gauge shotgun (Toz-34 is fine I usually look for a Remington 870 or a Spas) that's in good condition it makes a world of difference against mutants beyond your typical Flesh or Dog.

bro,i commend you for trying so hard with gamma,the modpack is so brutal with newcomers.About armors and weapons the bad news i have for you are ,that you need tools,i remember that a quest from the girl on the loner's base(where sidorovich is)gives you a basic set,another is finding stashes.Once you had them ,you can craft the repair kits

i haven't touched CoP since probably 2012. i can't believe how far the original trilogy have come with mods. the blowout animation was insane. I'll have to try this out sometime.
