Valheim really needs a hardcore mode (1 death and char+world will be deleted) + some steam achievments for that mode.

Valheim is designed to be played by 1-10 players, but the developers recommend 3-5. They are designing it to be a small-ish co-op game. You can play solo, but that is not the design focus. I doubt you'll see a "harcore" option or achievements. You'll either have to manually delete the world when you die or look for a mod.

That would be nice, then I wouldn't have to showcase my map for people to make sure there's no skeleton icon anywhere. I'd also like to see them add different difficulties, where the higher you go the more enemies spawn, more higher tiered enemies, etc.

You all get that is game is in development it is not finished. Tell them that you would like HC mode, I know a lot of options are available with mods I do just wish that was easier, but I found a mod manager that works fairly well so I shouldn't complain :)

I went up against two Eikthyrs one time because a mod didn't let him spawn. After I disabled the mod, two Eikthyrs came at me, but they weren't hard as a couple, either. I wasn't even focusing that much, as I was so pissed at the mod not doing its job right. But yeah, I know you purposely handicap yourself in this playthrough. Stabbing them with the spear repeatedly is much more efficient.

Question why 2 hand only? Barbarians used most if not all weapons they could get their hands on. If your only going for brutal weapons then why doesn't the basic club count (it fits the barbarian stereo type). Also this is a Viking game and Vikings were regarded as northern barbarians.

ikr! I can see focusing on close-combat melee and not doing ranged. I can also see choosing a main weapon type for flavor; but using a ranged spear attack with only one spear? That makes sense for hunting but not for combat.

I wanted to beat the game using 2h weapons and Barbarians are what come to mind when I think of 2h weapons. Needless to say, my challenges aren't meant to be entirely historically accurate.

@@slipsloptv Of course this is your playthrough and you should play it just how you want. One of the hallmarks of a good playthrough though is how it makes other players think about how they may try to do something similar in their own games. Drakes, like sea serpents, are problematic without some kind of ranged option. Have you ever tried a harpoon on a drake? I wonder how that would go. ;)

So the challenge is: reduce your armor by 1/3 and never use a shield. That isn't a big deal until you get to the mountains and plains. Then it is gonna suck. You're going to need multiple spears and you really, REALLY should think about upgrading them. Otherwise, the Elder and Moder are gonna suck.

True. I'm not sure how to make early game harder, but I think spawning two bosses helped a bit lol.

@@slipsloptv Making the game harder is easy: Limit your food choices, don't upgrade gear, and don't use a shield. Any combination of that will frustrate any player. Your barbarian challenge is a good start. It will probably end if you accidentally blunder too close to the plains and two deathsquitos see you.

I think I have to listen to the rules. He is wearing a tunic that is a garment that covers the chest hence chest armour. He used a spear and did not throw it, wasn't that against the rules. I mean I'm probably dead already but that isn't the point.
