Can’t believe some people still don’t under stand how make a safe rig. No rig setup is 100% safe but all setups should be made a safe as possible. Good informative video

It's a death rig for sure mark!!!! And glad your bringing to people s attention!! But I count inline leads and lead clip s a death trap as well as sometimes it's hard for swivels to be pulled out of the inserts and allso the sleeve to be pulled of a lead clip!!!! I use a running lead clip system now so my mind is at rest!!! Had a traile r the other week with a 3 oz lead still being dragged around by the carp I just obviously😔 we still get plenty of indication from a running lead system and it's a lot safer😁 if I owned a fishery then it would be running leadonly rule I Cant believe fisheries don't enforce it.atb Dan

i don't know how they can call those clips 'safety clips' dan, there's nothing safe about them is there?🤣 i do like the inliners though, set up correctly they are pretty much a running setup anyway, provided a shot isn't pinched behind the tubing that is.

As a club bailif youd never believe what rigs people use, most common is a swivel at the end of leadcore to attach line

How should I get my tubing to sink if it has a tendency to float?

two options mate, you can mould some rig putty around the tubing itself, just put it about an inch from the back end of the tubing. the other option, and the one i prefer, is to bin off the cheap tubing, if it doesn't sink it's not very good and shouldn't have a place in your tackle box, just buy some 'heavy' tubing that does actually sink and use that instead👍

it wasn't a badly tied rig jess, i could see it looking quite neat when it was cast out. looking at the mass of line all knotted up i suspect the angler cracked off, the line balls up like that when it's super stretched and breaks very quickly. so not only did they turn a good rig into a death trap, i think they mis-cast too🤐

There was no need to use that split shot though,they could of just used tungsten tubing.or a flying back lead,or even just a slack line and the tubing would have layed flat after a while....It's the split shot that made the rig into a death rig...

I put a stot behind my tubing but i use a freerunning lead setup. I ensure the run ring i use is big enough to go past the stot with no danger of it getting trapped.

you not worried about the shot picking up debris or silkweed and not passing through the run ring billy?.

@@MarkCarp no mate, I've used the same rig now for a year and a half and it's never picked any weed/debris up. If I did ever pick anything up I'd stop using the rig on the spot. I agree they have no place on an inline and I wouldn't use anything that would be bigger than my tubing as that would definitely cause problems.

2023 and this is still going on.All components should fall apart and fixed leaders with swivels fused in like korda safe zone leaders should be banned too.

i'm no fan of the leaders either paul, i have used them in the past but they never really sat right with me and i quickly went back to tubing👍
