It sounds great. I'd love to have a Kalamazoo-made Heritage, especially as a displaced Michigander. I like the concept of the Ascent series, but the bolt-on neck seems to me to be a pretty big corner cut to reach the price point. The Epiphone LP Special with P90s is $200 more, but it's got a set neck, CTS pots, and solid P90s.
@AllAboutWorshipGuitarАй бұрын
Thanks, I’d love to get a Core one of these days when I have a large enough following to knock on Heritage’s doors, haha. I hadn’t realised the Epiphone Special had those specs, time to go and search KZbin…

@@AllAboutWorshipGuitar Yeah, it's a solid guitar for the money. I'm sure the pickups could probably use an upgrade, but it's a worthy instrument.

I will be at Sweetwater next week for Guitarfest. May have to check these out - but I am more serious about the Harmony Silhouette with Bigsby. Not a big fan of the yellow but it is a great value proposition. I’ve never had the issue you described on my Baja. Interesting.

It was probably a problem that manifested from the previous owner and it finally gave way when I acquired it. Oh I'm not sure if these models will be at Guitarfest.

My last acquisition was a black Epi Les Paul Jr, threw in a P90 i had lying around. all up around $125 usd. Simple rig - happy.

Nice! Single pickup guitars are such harmonically-rich instruments.

Heritage used to make an American made h-137. They were $1800.
@AllAboutWorshipGuitar4 ай бұрын
There’s a Heritage Standard H-150 with P90’s that seems to have superseded the H-137.

in the video i can see frets popping out of the neck. The QC on squiers and epiphones nowadays is very good and they cost less. There isn't really a market for this kind of thing. You can't be a boutique brand and sell to beginners because beginners aren't aware of those brands. Budget shopping beginners go one of two ways: reputable brands like squier and epiphone, or absolute dirt cheap internet centric brands like harley benton + various amazon brands. I've seen tons of youtube videos about these and that's just part of their push to make this profitable. It is very transparently a business decision and not meant to be a gift to the guitar playing community. It's also a bad business decision that's going to go poorly. I strongly advise against being part of it.
@AllAboutWorshipGuitar23 күн бұрын
Hi, thanks for your input and your opinions! Not sure if the frets “popping out” is due to camera angle, but they weren’t problematic at all. Perhaps the frets are a little taller, but otherwise it’s a decent setup. Indeed the QC on the big brands budget line is also decent, but I think costs have been on the rise. The recent Epiphone offerings are approaching what I would have considered Les Paul Studio prices back in my day. Thanks for your concern too. For full disclosure, my association with the brand is based on my association with the local retailer here in Singapore. After hearing the story of how Heritage came to be, I’m actually quite on board with the business trajectory. It’s precisely a budget line that helps shift a brand’s perception from “boutique” to “mainstream” like Fender and Gibson which took years. What we’re seeing here with Heritage is probably in its infancy.

Big time fan of your work .I have a Schecter PT Fastback II B Electric Guitar I use for my humbucker worship guitar . I love the guitar but not the stock pickups . I do not want to wait for pickups that have extended wait delivery time to get . I like Seymour Duncan . what kind of Seymour Duncan would you recommend for worship guitar? Thank you so much for all you do for the worship guitar community

Yup this is true. I was wondering why Swee Lee's inventory was steadily filling up with Heritage, especially those drool-worthy Customs!

Gibson pulled out of Swee Lee after the lawsuit, so they can only stock Heritage now. Not a bad thing because Heritage's quality is so much more consistent than Gibson's.

I would also compare some Sterling and G&L Tributes in the ‘budget’ category. Maybe even Sire. So many good ‘budget’ options these days!

Oh, I'll have access to Sterling courtesy of the same shop who provided these guitars, but not G&L or Sire. Maybe it's time I reached out to them for a sponsored video? Heh.

@@AllAboutWorshipGuitarat a similar price point is the Cutlass - I have the Music Man USA version - but the ones that catch my with Sterling eye are the Albert Lee and Mariposa but those are pricier.

It looks like a cheap budget model without the binding on the neck. Add $50 and the binding and I'd buy one!

Oh yeah binding would make it so classy! But alas, it is indeed a budget guitar.

I'd like to know more about the relationship between these instruments and Heritage Kalamazoo. I was a huge Heritage fan when they originally opened up, as they felt like a more authentic continuation of Gibson's history, than the instruments that Gibson proper was producing at the time. If they truly bring that ethos to their offshore products, I could probably see a P90 version in my future. I'd love to know how the neck profiles compare!

It’s the same company, the models in this video are part of their made in Asia line, I recently found out the people that own Swee Lee also own Heritage now. I think the company is based in Singapore.
@AllAboutWorshipGuitar4 ай бұрын
As the comment above stated, yes Heritage is owned by the same company that owns Swee Lee in Singapore. Chinese craftsmanship is catching up, or has already caught up. Actually, I feel like origin of manufacture is quickly becoming a non-category, the latest Mexican and Indonesian instruments coming from the big companies are terrific. This H-137 is a comfortable D shape, not too skinny and sufficient mass to have a good grip. I've played Heritage Custom Shops for a video shoot with Swee Lee and those '50s inspired instruments have authentic baseball bats for necks, I much preferred this H-137!

Man, I just got an Epiphone inspired by Gibson Hummingbird made in China. Worst $850 purchase ever! Frets were flat on top, flaws in the finish, actoin so low buzzing up and down neck and sattle with no adjustment possible. Had to cut an old credit card to make a shim just to play it!
@caiusmadison29964 ай бұрын
They already have it in Epiphone. Sadly, as the original guitars epiphone made like the coronet, get sidelined for lackluster Les Paul's and SGs. Those guitars should also get made all the time, not just sometimes like Gibson has done to them.
