Cheap means 'low quality & sometimes disgusting!' The food in Albania is not cheap but in top quality & it levels with the Albanian economy. Now when you compare Albanian prices with those of UK seems like the prices in Albania are very cheap. But if you live & work in Albania they are not cheap but normal. In UK (or in my case in New York City, US) we pay almost $20 for Burger King combo meal (in USA) which consists of Whopper with cheese, medium fries & medium coke. US economy is very powerful but if you are an American like myself everything in here is very expensive and sometimes not in good quality. So basically living in New York City is damn expensive and majority of the New Yorkers can't afford to eat out regularly. That's why the word cheap needs to be replaced with affordable!

I am from Shkoder is a beautiful city.my advice to you if you want to have a proper traditional food from shkoder go to village called shiroke by the lake shkodra to have a traditional dish called tave krapi eitch means carp from the lake .

If you're going in a local taxi just ask for the price before, Im albanian and thats what I do, you can still also ask for a receipt If you dont belive Its the true price but only If you have the nerves to fight.

The best city in Albania is Korca and Shkodra , so tomorrow try to go Korca city there is too cold this month is beutiful and good food 😊 for the castle story is this , 3 brothers wants to build a castle but every nite castle wall falls, and they go to one old man for advice , old man told 3 brothers tomorrow who from urs wife comes to u bringing giving water food u put the wife inside wall and the castle will not fall again, but remember no one of u dont say nothing to ur wife , and 3 bro say ok when they go back home first and second brother told the truth to their wifes and asking them not to come send food water at the day, 3 bro the youngest didn't say nothing to his wife, tomoriw they wake up abd going build the wall castle in afternoon comes the wife of 3 brother and youngest brother start crying and his wife asked him why are u crying my dear , and he told his wife the truth, aftwr listing his husband she say its ok stop crying just one condition i have i want half of my body burial out of wall , the youngest bro asked why and she answer i wana see my child with one hand touch the head one to give milk and one leg to push his bed to sleep , so they burial the youngest bro wife and let her half body out of wall and wall castle didn't fall never 😊 every castle in albanian or illyrian castle has never been conquest in centuries but they have been taked from traitor or from food water who finish in castle 😊 the story of castle is to bring out the moral the truth,if bro is good so god it will have bro too this mean the story myth legend story are in metaphoric contest to understand know the reality people who arw and moral know the good and bad for next generation.
