However, if you are in the habit of listening to some people from some parts of the country, they will make you believe that Lagos is some sort of a jungle. Abuja is better in terms of what? Lagos is 3,475 km square with population of almost 30 million people, while Abuja is 7,315 km square with population of about 5 million, what's the comparison? Lagos is the smallest state in Nigeria yet the most populous. That state is densely populated with many old building structures, but still has modern infrastructures and the integrated means of public transportation is better than Abuja who's a little over 30 years old. Despite Abuja being a city built from scratch, I can't seem to see any modern infrastructure in display over there as someone who lived in Abuja for 13 years and has visited many countries in Africa and Asia. There's nothing to be proud of in Abuja. Lagos is jampacked but there's better opportunities in Lagos than Abuja. There's nothing in Abuja that is not in Lagos, but there so many things in Lagos that you can't find in Abuja. Lagos is battling with so many factors that is hindering the development of the state being an old city with outdated buildings. Abuja has no reasons not to be among the top 5 modern cities in Africa. Abuja doesn't have to deal with demolition, law suits and settlements to build anything. Do you even have any idea how many federal buildings laying there undemolished and yet useless in Lagos?

What happened to Makoko? The top 2 largest slums in Africa are right in Nairobi Kenya and Khayelitsha Capetown in South Africa, so i don't understand what your point is. Makoko is just unique because it's a floating slum which attracts attention. No where is perfect in the world. It gives a wrong impression to be showing lagos island and call it lagos. The average Nigerian can't afford anything in VI,lkoyi,VGC that he is talking about. The rest of lagos is shanty town, without good roads,no planning etc.The government should spend more time developing the mainland as well..

Who told you the average Nigerian can't afford "anything" in V/I, Ikoyi, VGC? Where do y'all get all these stats or assumptions from? And again, are you sure you really know Lagos mainland well? cos you're generalizing as if the whole Mainland has no development at all. Ikeja is on the mainland, Magodo, Eric Moore, Maryland etc as well as some bad ass real estates and industries are all on the Mainland

You are calling for the sack of one of the best governors Lagos State has ever had. The governor is doing his best based on the available resources. We cannot see development as fast as we would love to see because all company taxes in Lagos go to the federal government and they are redistributed to other states and local governments. Some 75% of revenue generated in Lagos are shared to other states. So, the governor can only manage with what is left.
