One of those hard things about being your own boss and farming - everything happens in it's own time, and there is no blueprint, no timeline other than the one set by nature - and that changes every season (heck, every day). I think it's great for people who have never experienced this kind of work to see how much responsibility is on the head of a farmer and what a varied skillset it takes to manage a farm and work it every day.

I'm sure you said you were gonna hold off from a few things this year, that plan obviously went in the skip. But there's obviously a good bit of "well while we're at it, it'd be daft not to" going on, and I can agree with that. Tom, Even though this additional expense wasn't in your original budget, I don't think you'll regret making the decision to extend that roof and get it all buttoned up now versus waiting and working around what you've already built - and risk these unexpected issues being more complicated later on, which risks even higher expense from that complication - not to mention inflationary costs. There's a saying on my side of the pond: "Don't step on dollars to save dimes." 😎

Would recommend sandwich panels for the sides. I don't know how you call them in the uk, but it is basically foam with 2 metal sheets on both sides. It is easy to put up, the room is isolated en its looks tight

Nice new roof. the area above the dairy area looks high enough to fit a second floor above especially in the middle. could fit a walkway to a viewing gallery looking down in to the parlour for the visitors to the farm.
