Just blows my mind nature took over and he knew what to do. This is so exciting. Nuggo is now a man and soon to be father! WOW! I read where the male emu will not eat or drink while sitting. They slow there metabolism down for this period. They will get up several times a day to move around the eggs. Nugget is doing his job well. Love watching you guys. You, Brook and Mary Carl are a delight to watch and learn from.

Not sure if yall watch Whitehouse On the Hill, but he has a few Emus and sitting as well, plus he's taking some inside to hatch. But his white male has been sitting for a while they should be hatching anytime. We all knew Nugget wasn't going to be a dead beat daddy!! If you think about it, Nugget has always shown a natural instinct to take care of those eggs. When he cleans your shoes it's the same way he cleaned and covered the eggs while Goldie was still laying new ones everyday. Whenever y'all would go to pet him he would lay down just like he would need to do to cover those eggs. Y'all thought he was just being sweet but he was doing what Emus do and practicing for this day all along. Hope we get to see several baby Emus zooming in the future. Won't that be fun!

Yes please get live stream cams on the goats, nugget, and the blue birds. Who will help you? I forget what it’s called, give them to you so you can promote their product. Wireless, solar live streaming. Talk to university’s, Cornell university has quite a few bird cams on during laying up until fledging. Maybe your state University would do it, you could offer a summer study program for students majoring in animal behavior, veterinary, something like that. Brook! You can do it! Today is your Doctor day, I hope it all goes well.

I find it truly amazing that from Nugget and Goldie not liking each other to now possibly becoming parents is wonderful..l find it so wonderful that he actually knows what to do..and bless him trying to tidy up the nest area.. 60 days is a very long time to sit..how on earth do they know when to do it all?.. isn't mother nature glorious..l sure hope he sticks it out..after all the work they've done with making the nest and now sitting on them I'd hate for him to give up too early..do they just lay eggs once a year? We feed our emus at the nest when they’re sitting. They get used to us doing it and now they don’t get up when we come by to feed them.

Jason I know bald eagles periodically preen and aerate the nest and roll their eggs. All normal and necessary for egg development and nest maintenance. Animal instincts are truly amazing and on full display here. The wonders of God!🌷

Bless his feathery heart. Sometimes you have to decide for them if it's best to allow natural instinct to kick in or to Bless them with their own safety and remove unknown viable eggs so his tender care doesn't put HIM in danger of self injury. What a dear possible papa.
