Please dont look at it as your Dad giving up. He knew he was ready. There is a huge differance. He was able to see his dream of his little girl growing up and knew Jason would protect you. His job in raising you was finished, you were now grown and married and he was at peace with that. ❤

Amen girl, when my dad passed after surviving cancer 5 times, 5 mind you, and a debilitating stroke, he laid in pain and suffering for 4 months. My husband couldn't understand my reaction at first, until he walked that path. Everyone knows that sad, sweet, painful relief. Praise God and all his blessings.

I felt the same way this last month. My sister had been sick for the past 13 years with UTIs and sepsis. She was in a nursing home for 3 years with no quality of life. Three weeks ago she passed, and I was so thankful. My best friend lost her Dad the evening of my sister's graveside services, and felt the same way. At times everyone is at peace with someone's passing. Bless you

God put you and Jason exactly where you were supposed to be on that beach trip. What a beautiful story. On the other hand, I know just how you felt when you felt relief when your Dad passed. My Dad passed from liver failure and went though a very similar experience. When he passed, it was the hardest day of my life; however, it was a big relief to not watch him suffer any longer. You have built a beautiful life with a man that your Daddy approved of and he knew you’d always be taken care of. He is resting peacefully for sure ♥️🙏🏻♥️

Thank you so much for Sharing all that with us Brooke, I was absolutely transfixed listening for the whole 31 mins! It struck me how incredible things interlocked and timed themselves amazingly. You had the 2 most important men in your life at one point with only one kidney each. And I don't believe your Dad 'gave up', I think he was just finally content thinking you were safe and settled with a good man, and that you'd both equally look after your Mum when he was gone. I never knew your Dad's name was Carl, that will make me smile now every time I hear MaryCarl's name mentioned. My only regret would be that he never got to meet her. Bless your Heart Brooke. My Dad was sick most of my life and passed when I was in my late 20's. I miss him and much Mama so much. Its such a relief knowing they're not suffering anymore.
