I CAN'T DO IT..TURNING BACK! | Stanthorpe & New England Highway

Welcome back!
We are exploring the New England Highway and chasing waterfalls, first up we drop our caravan off at Legume Community Hall donation camp and take our Next Gen Ford Ranger up towards Browns Falls where Bryce goes for a solo explore as the track gets a bit dangerous, then up to Queen Mary Falls (Main Range National Park) for a awesome circuit loop. We head towards Stanthorpe and start checking out some winerys with a quick wildlife rescue along the way. Sampling some apple pies at the Sutton Apple Farm is always a hit. Finishing it off with a stop in at the Granite Belt Brewery and then out to a Gravel pit free camp.

sprinkle salt on leaches and they drop off. Spray heavily salted water on your shoes, socks and legs to deter them.

Just been there last Wednesday and Thursday, we live 2 to 3 hours away and didn’t know these falls existed. We walked through the tunnel at Browns then bailed after seeing the track, the wife had a fall the previous day and still sore, we are in our early 70’s and not really fit, after your video I’m glad we did pull the pin. QM falls are great we were greeted by a friendly carpet snake on the way back up. Thanks for your videos.

OMGoodness. I would be in heaven at Suttons, all those products to purchase and then an apple pie🥧. Turtle Ranger Bryce to the rescue. Turtle road kill doesn’t sound appealing. As South Aussie’s a lot of wine runs second to our SA winery’s.

Careful picking up turtles, if they pee on you, it’s rank. We found one and a farmer told us to throw a towel over it in case it wants to do “ones” on you!

Salt on leaches works. So does a lighter but you might also burn yourself. And yes, the Red Bridge is grey.

Hi very disappointed that you didn't stop in Killarney on your way to the Falls. Brown's Falls and Daggs Falls are owned by my wife's family ancestors, Queen Mary Falls used to named Upper Daggs Falls when my wife's family ancestors owned it , they sold the land to Crown Land hence now the name Queen Mary Falls. We were very disappointed you didn't show more of the area around the Queen Mary Falls and visit the shop. Thank you for at least showing us the video.

Hello! Thanks so much for watching 😃 We are sorry we disappointed you. Although we did actually stop in the town of Killarney and look around in the very few shops open. Didn’t find there was anything exciting to share there on film. We thought the beautiful falls deserved the attention we gave them in the video instead. Not sure what else we missed at Queen Mary falls ? 🤔 other than the shop (which was just attached to the caravan park). Unfortunately we don’t have time to film every small town in great detail.

Great video, juice is so adorable and he’s just so grown up from that wee baby he was. I’m researching dog back packs for our schnauzer, for those parts of walks where it’s easier to carry him. Have a great week. Ps: we had a business that we lived with leeches in the rainforest. A deterrent that does work is spray aerogaurd etc on your legs. Also not nice but it juice ever gets one in his eyes, the quickest way is tweezers. We became experts at it. The quicker you do it the less painful & itchy for them.

I did the Queen Mary Falls the wrong way, nearly had a heart attack, at my age, Two old ladies ( locals) come across me , I recovered and slowly made it up the stairs, That's when I learnt from them to walk the 2 klms clockwise 😃

theres a statue in stanthorpe of the brass monkeys it gets cold there even snows at times an by the way apparently theres no ticks so juice be good in that way

Remove leeches with salt. What a pathetic dog! You have to carry it! I travelled everywhere with my golden retreaver and border collie, including the Gibb, Oodnadatta & Birdsville tracks, and many others. They were great travel dogs and up for anything, especially water crossings!
