Funnily enough, Heracles and Bayern Munich were the only two sides the Ajax team that reached the semi-final of the UCL did not manage to win against across two games. Unlike Bayern though, we actually managed to win from Ajax. Furthermore, from the 8 games ETH’s Ajax faced against Heracles, they only managed to win 4. So to technically Heracles was a terrible example of a club ETH had it easy against in the eredivisie.

David Gill was just about holding it together during his eulogy he got so emotional. However, Ten Hag did brilliant at Ajax where he had a competent sporting director and time to build a squad. I want Ten Hag to have more help in recruitment. Some of those will be decent enough squad players, some will be starters. Thats enough to start from and just build out the squad from there. Arteta finished 8th, 8th, 5th and then suddenly were challenging city for most of the next season so its not implausible. At times they lacked focus on game plan, at times a lack of energy/intensity. Mostly not feeling ‘present’ in the moment. McGuire equalized and then in the last attack of game we got countered. We should have accepted a draw. Injuries have plagued us and that will be the story. In this league 5 game unbeaten runs change the table real fast. But on paper McGuire Varane at CB. Mainoo and Casemiro in CM. There is experience. But it was all a bit meh today.

United have been patching and papering over the problems for years now. What this squad needs is a complete refresh. Honestly, I can't think of one player on the starting 11 that I would keep. United have had quite a lucky season scraping many wins by just 1 goal, hence their abysmal G/D compared to the others around them in the table, Mctominay wonder goals saving them a couple of times too. Been a Utd fan all my life and Merse is right, it'll be years before we can even compete for the league, let alone win it. I am encouraged by the appointments Ratcliffe has made so far Ten Hag is on very thin ice though now, if we implode in the next 10 games I think he'll be gone in the summer. Maybe a fresh start with new manager, new director of football and CEO will benefit us next season. I don't think INEOS will mess around and I reckon there'll be a lot of players out and in the doors at Old Trafford in the summer. If you talk to the real Utd fans most of them are just glad that the Glazers are losing their grip on the club, Yeah we know it's a long way back but I know sooner or later it will happen
