Hybrid Theory was my first album back in 2000, and LP were my favorite band from 2000 to 2017. Every album after Meteora had a different sound, and From Zero is great. Later around 2021 Joe Hahn and Dave Phoenix Farell started hanging out around the studio and they started jam sessions, then Collin came in and they realized they sounded great together and decided to reform the band

Was listening to Dead Sara all the way back in 2012, loved her voice and preached their gospel ever since. When 2017 rolled around I was devastated for months and months, but when I suggested to people that Emily would be a good fit for the band, I was met with “yeah rights” and “eh” and the more common “who?” This return has been like a 7 year long vindication lap for me. I feel so excited for what they cook up together in the future now that she’s cemented herself. She’s come such a long way since her time in video game soundtracks and doing nirvana and rage against the machine covers :)

@ the songs in their first record are my favorites, the album goes between a lot of haunting clean singing and devilish screaming, a couple of favorites are Said You Were Lucky, Timed Blues, and Monumental Holiday. I assume you’ve already heard Weatherman off that record too. I also did love Love Sick, Blue Was The Beautiful You, and Unamerican etc. really decent band when it comes to their rock stuff. They have some poppier stuff that I’m less fond of but still really solid

Emily is amazing 🤩 If you listen to a live version of Two Faced from San Paolo gig you will notice that Emily even adds vibrato to her screams. As if just screaming in pitch wasn’t enough 😂 Extremely talented girl

Like, at the end of casualty she has this weird effect on her voice which sounds like her voice is hoarse for one word and normal for next again which drags on for a few lines like tennis. It sounds like she is inhaling while speaking but you don't hear the inhale, just the changed voice, very weird. I thought this was an edited effect. Nope, she did that live in Sao Paulo.

Agreed. A full third of the album is nearly perfect, and all the rest are still great. There's only one song that I can't get into, Overflow, but a lot of people seem to love that one, so it's just me 😅

I also don't like "Casualty" however people are usually liking it much - I personally don't think it's a good song - it sounds like Linkin Park is trying too much to be really "heavy" but it doesn't sound good in their version (And I don't say it for the reason that I don't like heavy songs - I of course like much heavier bands than Linkin Park is) All other songs I think have their correct place on the album

@BethRoars I'm grateful and delighted by your decision to review so many songs from Linkin Park's new lineup, but it also makes me a bit sad that you didn't react to some of their all-time most beloved songs. I know you have a near-infinite amount of content you'd like to react to, but I truly hope you can find the time to react to "Breaking the Habit" and/or "Numb" and or "New Divide" and/or the live acoustic version of "Crawling". I call these songs out specifically because you are a vocal coach, and these songs all feature Chester and display his range, as opposed to some of their other big hits that devote a lot of time to Mike's rapping-- which is great, but not so interesting for a vocal analysis. There are high quality live versions available for each of these songs, though IMHO the official music videos for "Breaking the Habit" and "Numb" both add entertaining and interesting narrative elements to the overall experience. I really enjoy your channel, thanks so much for creating and sharing such high quality content.

As a guy, at timestamp 2:39 to 2:41, plus a few other times in the video, the dance move Emily Armstrong does is so feminine! That it is proof definite that this ain't the old Linkin Park. I think Chester was able to sing live Better than her (Two Faced live in Sao Paulo sounded Much less strong vocally speaking compared to the studio version where the vocals are surely distorted by software) but anyways She is very good. Chester had more natural distortion even in live
