If we're being honest, a lot of the popular dancers today got their following because of Matt and he paved the way for choreographers and dance vids on KZbin! I've been here for so long and will continue to support you!
@valeriag82055 ай бұрын
A lot of the popular dancers didn’t get it from Matt, but from their own hard work and being recognized from videos since they were 10. Kaycee for instance didn’t get popular when she was in Matt’s classes. Neither did Sean Lew. And then there’s people like Ysabelle who built her way up to the top herself.

I really can't tell you how long I have been a follower of yours. All I know is I am 52 years old, and raising an autistic granddaughter who is now 11. Life gets so rough for me sometimes. Life is easy for me, compared to her, who is severe non verbal. Can you imagine that? She loves music. She lives on KZbin, Pandora. She makes playlists. She searches. She introduces me to new music. I spent years watching your dance videos when I was down. Your positive energy, and your community raises me to keep on going. Anyway. Yesterday Monica found APT by Rose and Bruno Mars. And it stuck in my head because she played it several times. Algorithm to today, I am strolling reels or whatever, and there is your class dancing to APT, which lead me to this video. You keep rocking Matt. You inspire so many of us. It doesn't matter if we are dancers, or music lovers. Your videos shine. You and your friends GLOW into my life. Never ever settle. Never ever give up. I will be here. Monica, my granddaughter will be here.

This story😭 when they say everyone in LA is fake it's no exaggeration. I never thought of you of just as a KZbin dancer. Thank you for working hard and never giving up
@nikkipew4 ай бұрын
This is a gross generalization from a local. And usually the fakies are not natives. They come from small towns seaking opportunity just like Matt, where he created his dreams here in LA! Its a tough city when you are in an industry like Matt. Jealously is a helluva drug. It takes courage to come to a BIG city and believe in yourself, LA is one of those places and it takes time to cultivate a community much less a positive self-concept of yourself. So yeah ppl are fake when they don't know who they are. Peace
@princess_niya24074 ай бұрын
The fake ness that comes from LA is from the transplants(nonnative people ) not the locals
@GetUnwoke18 күн бұрын
The fake ones are the transplants from other states who move here for fame and fortune. They have this image of what a Californian is and try to lay it on thick with their fakeness. Don't diss the native Angelinos like that. 🙄

The inspiration we have felt as we have watched an entire generation of dancers grow - as dancers, but also as young people to adulthood. Thank you for all of it, and for what you continue to give. Matt, i know this is one of a billion comments but you saved me. In 2017-2018 around when you made that tutorial for MIA i was out of shape and not feeling so great. I was over weight and sitting around the house eating feeling sad. I wanted to start getting fit and found you videos on YT. I was always into dancing since i first was able to get into club I had a tight group of friends who also loved to dance and we went to diff clubs and got the dancing started. People would be standing around waiting for the first few people to go out and dance,,, we were those few people. Then i was in ARMY and family stuff happened and then after my kids grew up I was sad and bored. You got me up and helped me lose 50 lbs dancing to your videos. They were hard enough to challenge me but not so hard i gave up. I was in best shape of my life after losing that weight and eating better bc of your videos. I would start my day dancing and working out. I got up to 50 pushups from 6 when i started and felt amazing. Then covid came and shut down my favorite places to go dancing and now I gained back that 50lbs. I need to start over too. I am 57 years old this year but i know what i need to do just have to get it started...lol I just wanted to thank you for your help with bringing back dance to my life.

Hey! Matt my nam is Tydiss your story really moved me I’ve been a dancer/choreographer 11 years. I from Stockton, California where we can be overlooked for the most part in Cali. I understand how it is grinding to the point where it didn’t get better or anywhere anymore. I went from not dancing as great in my elementary school, joining dance clubs and dance teams during high school, to working in dance studios, to comps, to having my first dance studio in Stockton the 1st to have one at the age of 21 in my hometown. With all of that happening of course there was so much passion I have and lost of it , pain, and perseverance I had to go through including the Covid period. There’s so much I want to share including what I’m capable of. Hopefully you can bring in some local innovators/dancers into your new creative experience you have coming soon. It was always a blast learning the choreos you made with amazing and talented dancers/choreographers on KZbin. Glad to see you pivoting into a time where the dance scene feels dead or not as fun anymore. I’m happy for you and hope I get to meet you one day! Much love and respect 🙌🏾✨

I am so happy that you said this, with tiktok and short videos still taking over everyone is so focused on that short, instant feeling. What you are going to do now will hopefully bring back the stronger, deeper connections and emotions. I cannot wait for the next videos!

Damn, dude - Matt Steffanina, you have NO IDEA how you have kept me company, kept me inspired, and possibly even kept me alive in my dark and lonely times. I'm not a dancer, but your videos fill me with joy. Every time a new song comes out that I want to dance to, I always search "choreography by Matt Steffanina" and only look for you. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

I've watched you for years. I deal with some significant chronic health issues, and when it's what I call "the witching hour," and I can't sleep or get comfortable at 2am, I go to your channel. It always helps distract me. I'm SUPER excited for this new direction, and I'll be watching along the way as always! My pick is, like many others, BAILEY!!!! Josh would be great, too!

My sister was one of Matt's biggest online supporters, she passed a few years back and I would watch his content just to feel connected to her. But through that process I also became a fan. His work ethic, love of teaching, and genuine soul hooked me in and I'm happy to support content that feeds his soul and provides fulfillment. Best of luck Matt. 💙

Wow, matt, I wanna thank you so much and I can't believe that when I knew you back in 2019 in Melbourne when knowing you had 10 million subscribers on KZbin, I thought your life was sorted and you had it all...and then you were so nice that day coz I was just a volunteer in the class at the Space studio in Melbourne but you let me took the class for free. You also took time to take photos with everyone and I took one photo with you... and I just remembered the humbleness you kept even you became famous, and I am forever grateful...Now I am studying in United States and visited Millenium a couple of times, and I just wanna say thank you for keep helping people, because of your energy and love for dance got passed in me, and I was able to chase that light and go a little bit further than I could ever had imagined. So thank you and I wish your new chapter in life nothing but the best...Namaste.

I'd never imagined myself crying on one of your videos. Few years ago, I didn't knew how to properly dance and thought to myself that I'll never be a great dancer. I've watched almost every single one of your videos from 2014 up to this day. Na Na was the first ever dance video that I've watched from you and it even had the names of the dancers at the bottom, but actually Slow Motion was the first ever dance choreography that I learned from you, and I learned it with the help of your tutorials back then. Few years later, I'm now a captain of my university dance team, and have danced in such big places here in my home country, the Philippines all because I learned from your dance videos. Hope to see you on tour again, Matt. Hopefully I can afford your classes when you come back here. Thank you for doing this, thank you for being such an inspiration, you will always be my first virtual dance teacher. Love to have you and the OGs back, Bailey, Ken, Sean, Gabe, Will, Josh, Kaycee, Tati, Taylor, Andy, Sierra, Sheadan, Soni and even Aidan.

I am a 51yo woman from Canada who first saw one of your videos back in 2019 and I started following you because of the joy that exuded from you in your videos. I am a complete klutz and trip over minute bumps in the sidewalk so watching someone do intricate moves in unison with you was incredible. I have noticed less joy in the few I have watched but have to be honest, your videos haven't been hitting my feed recently. I look forward to seeing where you are heading and will check for your content rather than waiting for it to appear. You've stuck through it and I respect that, can't wait to see what's next!

Being able to see a new or different path when the fire has dimed ain't any easier. I've always loved dance and many forms of movement . I'm kinda old now and I lost the fire completely but when I found your material it rekindled that love and passion. I was late finding your videos but they helped with some dark times and , still do. They still bring joy and I'm still catching sauce that I missed the first dozen times watching. I look forward to this new thing with anticipation.

She also mentions how you still looking and rooting for her. So please, I would love to see Mia Mugavero dancing with you, again. And I would like to thank you too for being my first inspiration to my very first journey in dancing. I could still remember back then when I was around 9 yrs old, I don't have phone so I would go to computer shop and stay there for like 2 hrs just to watch and learn your videos. So thank you. Omg... I've only joined Matt's community recently, but never got to know his story since I'm still quite new here, and never took any of his classes. I remember seeing him on TikTok in Covid, but never realised the opportunities choreographers bring to their dancers through a screen. Matt, your story is so inspiring, and I admire your persistence and resilience so much. I'm not an og fan, but based on others' stories of success, such as Mr Beast, it's usually more based on deeper meanings, such as your new message here. I totally agree with this change and I really like it because it's a new idea - I've never heard of anyone who interviews dancers and shares their stories in such a chaotic industry, nor have i heard the stories of my own favourite dance teachers before, so you can be the one to bring them to the internet! I absolutely loved listening to yours, so I'd definitely enjoy listening to all the others. I'm all here for it and I'm really excited!! Please interview Kelly Sweeney and Guy Groove - the teachers who gave me so many opportunities, even from a world away, and who i appreciate so much ❤❤❤ I'd love to listen to theirs too. Please don't quit dancing overall though! You're an amazing dancer and we love you, Matt! Dancers can always find their love for dance again when stepping back from the industry. Think about it :) This is can get so big, I'm so excited. Let's go Matt, you've got this!!! 🎉🎉

I think it is so normal as humans to not pursue just 1 thing our whole lives. I feel that there is pressure for everyone to choose one thing and stick to it as far as a job. The fact that you didn’t get paid from your KZbin videos and still continued to do it just shows how truly passionate you were about it. I think it’s completely natural to go in a different direction, as when we do things over and over again, it may get boring after a while cause it’s not new any more. I’ve personally faced things like this throughout my whole life. I also have adhd so that may be part of it 😅 But thank you for being honest with us. I’m sure it wasn’t an easy decision to make considering how long you’ve been making dance videos on this channel. I’m excited to see who you have on the channel in the future! ❤

Matt, you've actually changed my life! I remember when I first stumbled upon your 'Where Are Ü Now' by Justin Bieber tutoria. I wasn't a dancer nor knew anything about choreographies. I was in shock at how captivating and mesmerizing the choreography was. So, I gave it a shot and started learning it, not knowing this would change my life drastically. I started dancing every day, learning new moves, going to dance classes, and even performing in front of others. Your videos have been a constant source of inspiration and motivation. I can't thank you enough for igniting my passion for dance and I'll forever be grateful for you no matter what you do or where you'll go ❤
