Big Lipped Alligator Moment is a meme that started with his joint review of Fern Gully with Nostalgia Chick. Basically, a bizarre over-the-top (usually musical) scene that comes out of nowhere and is NEVER MENTIONED AGAIN. Side note: check out that Fern Gully review some time.

This reminds me of the good old day, and how this ended up leading to his next review, Twister, starring Helen Hunt, the late Bill Paxton, and the late Philip Seymour Hoffman. It's also where that horse joke that stumped you from the Tom and Jerry Wizard of Oz review came from. Just so you there are no future parts to this video. What you saw was the third part of his Top 11 F ups where he lists off his biggest mistakes in his videos.

Dumbo is a sweet movie about a baby elephant, who was born with way too big ears and everyb made fun of him. His mother protects him rather aggressively and the circus locks her away as a "Mad elephant". From than on Dumbo has to live on his own. Some of the clowns have a party after the show and a bottle of alcohol drops into a water basket and Dumbo drinks from it. If you ask me, such little amount of alcohol in that big of bucket shouldn't have such a big fever dream, but hey, it was entertaining

3:44 because Warner Bros (the owners of Looney Tunes/Bugs Bunny) and Disney were, and still are, heated rivals. In order for the two companies to cooperate, they each signed a contract saying Bugs/Mickey (as well as Daffy Duck and Donald Duck in an earlier scene) had to have _equal amounts of screentime._ Although brief, their interactions are some of the highlights of the movie. (It's called Who Framed Roger Rabbit, and it's a masterpiece.) 13:16 It's explained better in NC's FernGully review, but a BLAM (a rather fitting acronym) is basically a scene with next to no buildup, halts the plot in its tracks, is weird/trippy even in context, and once it's over is never brought up again. "That looks like an NFT" I'm not even that big a fan of Rob Zombie, but that caused me physical pain. Shame on you, Kyle, shame on you.

I recommend checking them out, they got 4 albums and its all horror themed songs, like their song "The Meek Shall Inherit The Earth" is about the classic movie "Them" about giant ants. Their 4th album incidentally is called "The Greatest Show Unearthed Returns" and the title song is follow up to the title song of their first album.

A lot of your questions can be explained by watching some of the older videos but I understand if you don't want to. I've been watching the Critic for like 12 years and he's really evolved over time and dropped most of the running gags. Basically a Big Lipped Alligator moment is a moment that comes out of nowhere, has little to no bearing on the plot and after it's over, nobody speaks of it again (started in Fern Gully review). The Elephant joke is just the Burger King showing up every time he says, "Elephant" (I think started in the Nickelodeon game shows episode)

I hated that blob on Raggedy Ann and Andy! It was horrifying especially when it decided to try and cut Raggedy Ann's sweet heart out with a pair of scissors. Traditionally, all Raggedy Ann and Andy dolls have a pocket where their heart would be and the sewer would add in a wrapped piece of candy. The only way you could reach it is if you cut out the heart pocket. So in effect, you needed to kill the doll in order to get the secret candy inside of it. WTF???

just so you know, Kyle, there actually exists an actual haunted raggedy ann doll properly locked up in a museum. and they do ask you to not touch anything in that box, including the box itself. there also exists something called Robert the doll, which is, again, a haunted doll that's properly locked up in a glass box. they say that you must ask Robert kindly if you can take a picture of him, if you do that without his permission, or make fun of him in ANY WAY, then your camera and cellphone won't work. and it only works once you step outside the museum where he's currently "living" in. and the museum night guards has reported that they can hear him move at night...;)

So yeah this was first released back in 2009. A good 13 years ago. The internet was a different time back then. Those old weird video clips were new at the time. Nostalgia critic along with others on his site "That guy with the glasses" had running gags that they set up. So the big lipped alligator moment is referencing one of his call backs, specifically parts in a movie that come out of nowhere, are weird, and never referenced again.

You probably have figured this out by now but to answer the question about “big lipped alligator moments” it’s a meme started by Don Bluth’s All Dogs Go to Heaven movie. Basically it’s when a movie has random insanity thrown at you for a scene and then after it’s over it’s never mentioned again. Really there’s not much point to it except filler or to confuse/ scare the audience out of their minds.

the big lipped alligator moment is a poorly conceived meme, as its premise is a bizarre over the top moment scene that comes out of nowhere and is never mentioned again. However its name is refrenced to all dogs go to heaven, where charlie meets a big lipped alligator in the sewers and they have a musical number together. I personally never liked the meme as the alligator is summoned by charlie at the end of the movie to help him deal with the antagonist so I felt the meme being named after that as they say its never mentioned again...except charlie calls on the alligator for help so the moment was mentioned agaiin...
