I’m looking for some tips that don’t wear off but I see you also speak about the metal tips. I tried those fine like tips and at first I have to say I liked the feeling BUT lineart was very much wonkier. It did not wear off but I think my screenprotector got more scratched than normal (using paperfeel from amazon, difficult to get scratched imo) . Tried timobo pen tips and still wears out pretty fast 😣. I guess I’ll try thise metal ball point

Hi there, as a new iPad owner and as someone who is starting their digital art journey, this video was helpful! I had seen the same screen protectors from Amazon. I wanted to try them, but I read some poor reviews so I’ve wanted to do further research. The one that really stood out to me was that an artist said it distorted the color white and reflected colors like blue, red, and green. Have you noticed that? Thanks!

I personally recommend you get textured tips rather than a protector. Feels great and doesn’t affect the screen.

Will the iPad Pro 12.9 generation 3 thru 6 stick to the KU XIU in the ZUGU cases? Also, how deep (wide?) is your desk? Or how far dose the arm reach comfortably function?

Unfortunately it doesn’t work with a case on the iPad. For me this isn’t much of an issue because my iPad is typically on the arm or in my Astropad Darkboard (or sketchboard pro). When I’m going somewhere I tend to just bring my iPad mini (which is in a ZUGU case).

I think those are just to attach the center piece that can be swapped out for different iPad sizes.

Yeah, with a Mac it’s super easy, you can just add the iPad as an additional display. You can also use the Astropad app for a little more control.

I do use astropad, but you can also just use it connected as an additional display in your system settings. Astropad gives a bit more control and options.

How do you use the ipad like a cintique? Do you have a video on that ?

There’s a couple ways to do it. The easiest is Mac specific, you can simply go into your system settings and then go to displays and add the iPad as an additional display, or mirroring your current display. The other option is through Astropad’s app that gives you a bit more control over how much of your screen is shown and some other helpful features. I’m not sure if this mac-only as well.

Chris! Quick! Darkboard or Sketchboard? I need you to decide for me because I cannot. Adding one of them to my Christmas list for sure but I need to know which.

I have both and I do art/animation as a hobby. Here's my 2 cents. I end up using the DarkBoard more because it's more portable and I tend to draw while sitting on the couch or in bed or just about anywhere but at my desk. (I'm a software programmer by day so I want to get away from the desk during off hours.) But if I were at the desk for my drawing, I'd go with the SketchBoard Pro. As Chris mentions, it gives you that big surface area and feels a bit like an easel. You can even squeeze an X-sheet or a character design sheet taped to the side away from your drawing hand. But the SketchBoard Pro is a bit too big to use, say, sitting on the couch. So, for me, it would come down to how I planned to use the board: more stationary or more mobile. Hope this helps.

Because my iPad Pro doesn’t really travel much it’s usually in one of the drawing stands or on the arm. I do have my iPad mini in the ZUGU case and that’s the one that usually comes with me if I’m going somewhere.

Saying that you have tactile issues with some of those screen protectors totally gave me the language to explain why I disliked Paperlike so much. I could feel all those little scratches in it and I absolutely hated it! Just thinking about it makes my skin crawl. 😅

Wish they would make the apple pencils themselves more affordable. Maybe it ok in prize for the technic inside but its still very expensive if you already bought the expensive ipad.

Yeah, that would be nice. I’ve found they’re usually cheaper on Amazon. I will say they are very durable though. I once dropped one in the snow and lost it and 2 weeks later when it melted I found it and it still worked!
