I guess I'm similar to you in a lot of ways, I also grew up in small town Colorado (I actually grew up across the river from the campground you feature in this video a couple times). In fact, I'm actually in gunny right now which I find a bit amusing. I think we took different paths (you embraced chasing nature even more, I turned to 'civilization'), but there's a certain part of me that's still just waiting for the next peak, both literally and metaphorically. It is indeed a sad way of looking at things, though, and I've tried to turn more towards what will bring me satisfaction in all those valleys. Good times with friends, family, and seeking out positives from career and education. Still haven't decided which way I want to turn. On one hand I want to just go run to the mountains, on the other hand I've been chasing a childhood dream of getting a degree, 'being smart', and pushing the cutting edge of science and technology. I just can't seem to do both and sometimes that frustrates me.

I think it's a legal cause in my name that I'm not allowed to have a tent box. "But Box tent with tent box" you may say, no random citizen, I will not risk ending up in a padded room chanting, "tent box, box tent, box content con tent box." Meh... I appreciate that they support the channel, but the things cost several times as much as a regular tent, and raise the center of gravity of your vehicle quite a bit, ruining your handling as they wreck your fuel mileage. Plus they're always gonna be colder/more exposed than sleeping closer to ground level. And you still have to set up and take down a tent, and dry it out when you get home. Not saying there's no use in them. But think about how it'll actually change your adventure before you invest big, and consider how much time it'll take you to make that money when you could be spending it camping out in an ordinary tent! Or like, saving up for a mini trailer, idk.
