7:40 This one isn't about cheating, but it's still the one of the funniest things I've ever done. So I was doing this academic writing subject, and the essay at the end of it was one of three topics; the one I chose was something like "Why tertiary level students should not cite Wikipedia in their assignments". Now, Wikipedia itself has this general disclaimer page where it directly says that it cannot guarantee the validity of information found on it, and that's an argument-winning point in and of itself. I have to prove that Wikipedia said that, so I need to cite it. *I successfully cited Wikipedia in an essay on why you shouldn't cite Wikipedia.* (and by the way, I learned that for most everyday scenarios, Wikipedia is good enough)

I had a similar instance when I was in my geometry class back in high school during the final exam. After the teacher passed out all the tests, I went ahead and sped through answering the questions, got up to turn it in. The person who was sitting by me got up a little after me to turn his in. The teacher took my scan form, looked at it, and put it down in the pile. Then the person who got up after me turned his in. The teacher looked it over real quick and asked him "Why is it, that you have all of the right answers for section A, when you have section B?" I pumped my hands up saying "F YEAH I got 100%!" To which the teacher looked at me, and I was like "What, you just said I did"

More fun terrible cheater stories: in one class I taught, one student perfectly copied the answers of another student, but was off by one. Every response was the correct solution to the previous problem. In another class, a student had found the solution manual and was so lazy that they printed pages from it and turned it in for their homework, but didn't think to remove the header and footer from the answer key pages.

CS major here - I remember I had cheated on a university chemistry assignment at one point, the question I nearly got flagged for was a short response question I had used a Quizlet to answer but I got away with writing the similarity off as a coincidence when asked about it - I was on school wifi at the time so I'm kinda surprised they didn't try to check the network's packet trace for that (packet traces are essentially a log of communications going in/through/out a given device, it's super handy for debugging and forensic investigations) That being said, I didn't really have a GPA incentive since I had previously taken and failed the class and under a pass/fail system (i.e. no grading scale to affect your GPA, you just have to pass to get the credit, the caveat being you need a C equivalent grade or better to pass) and wasn't able to switch back, I was just fed up with the class if anything since it was a one-off I needed for lab credit; for those who may say "Well just copy your previous answer", I don't keep track of old documents like that very well and I don't even remember if I got it right the first time Remember though, kids, don't fuckin cheat there's a very real chance it'll ruin your opportunities in life

Talking about copying homework, I have seen the dumbest group of people copying assignment when I am taking my Bachelor degree. In the course, lab report is a must and missed submission means fail. So a group of people decide to copy each other's lab report as they are of the same group but they are such "genius" that they decide to copy it right before the next lab start inside the lab and get caught red handed. I don't think I will ever see some other people that exceed this lower boundary lol.

okay, the discussion of academic integrity or lack thereof at the 9~10 minute mark or so reminded me of two things: First, how I managed to use the same project to pass four different classes in two different subjects in three different years. It was a 7th grade history assignment on the boston tea party I took some creative liberties on (as directed), that I then also used for 7th grade english, 8th grade history, and 9th grade english. Second was a friend of mine had one of his students submit a paper obviously written by chatgpt. So obviously that it would have been less obvious if the paper was nothing but a single line saying "as a predictive language model, I have been trained to not write your homework for you". Instead, it was almost a bullet point response to the bullet point question list the student was provided, including two bullet points that were some kind of error message, one that referenced a nonexistent academic paper, and one written in german due to the student presumably not copying the full question and so cutting off the y from "in germany"

For the section that changes based on whether or not you hit the block to release the pow or not, my guess is that it has a hidden block detector. Winged hidden blocks are broken in SMM2, and if one gets hit inside a bomb, the bomb doesn't register it until another one gets hit, then instantly detonates. My guess is that one of the blocks in the stack of two is a hidden block, and hitting it triggers a detector that enables the contraption

So in my computer classes at college, we had a programing assignment. I would let my friend look at my code to see what was working for me, but told them to always write your own code, and I never gave them the file itself, always just let them look at my code from my laptop. Someone else? Would let others copy code. Well, some genius took an exact copy, down to the top 4 lines, which were the name of the project, the date, our name, and a brief summary of the code in comment form, and submitted it. Needless to say, they got caught for cheating, as person A's name was on Person B's copy.

My favorite cheating story was when I was in highschool and the teacher gave out one of those "read first then complete the test" tests. Well this one person didn't follow that direction and just started to do the questions... ad someone was copying their answers. Well, If they would have followed directions they would have noticed that at the end of the test it said stare at the clock and turn in the blank test at a specific time.

I cheated in my college chemistry 101 class... The professor was a stickler for spelling, and if you misspelled any of the names of elements or compounds incorrectly, he would give zero partial credit for an answer, even if you clearly knew the proper answer and did all the steps correctly. So I saved a chart of the proper spellings of all the elements in the periodic table, and all the rules for how to properly spell the combined element names, and the various spelling rules for including the -oxide and -oxal and other various prefixes and suffixes. I'm not great at spelling to begin with and without that chart, I would have never been able to pass that class.

What I do is I stay up as long as I can closest to the normal fall asleep time and then try to go to bed. It usually fixes that schedule, after maybe 2 more day I'm usually back on 4 am get up. But I'm usually 5 hours a night M-F and 8 on weekends. LCD screens keep your brain awake BTW

Just a thought: When someone changes their username in game, it might not be the best of idea to say "formerly known as..." or "AKA...." unless you know the reason for the name change - not that I'm sure it would have the same weight behind it as "deadnaming" someone, but it feels to me like it might be close. Just my 2 cents.

7:40 On a related note, I came up with an imaginary scenario involving 2 people, let's call them Jean and Dave. So imagine if Jean kept looking at Dave's sheet as if she was copying, but then you compare the exams and there's barely any similarities (so you decide to disregard it for the grades), and then later you find out that right after the exam, Jean lectured Dave about how his answers were wrong. And then Dave turns out to have gotten the better grade.
