Spends a year taking people’s donations and accepting strangers help to build a vehicle that he abandons twice, then takes the money to buy a new car. Not gonna lie, always supported the videos by watching, but glad I didn’t donate money because this feels really dishonest.

Jake, if you are reading this: I am old, I was young and saw this coming a mile away. I've built several Jeep's and always missed the simplicity of them when they got too "built". The key to life is SIMPLICITY! To bad it takes a lifetime to learn this.

Totally agree, I sold my first ever vehicle, a YJ, because after 12 years of building it into a rockcrawler all it did was sit in the garage and get driven once a year on the trail. I sold it because it was too big, too uncomfortable on road, too much hassle to return to a simpler state. I miss it everyday but keeping things simpler is better. My new plan is to build another Jeep but not much bigger than stock. Makes any trail a challenge and it will still be enjoyable on road. Oh yeah and cost a lot less to build. My ego doesn’t need 37” tires and a long arm kit to feel satisfied anymore. Lol

I’m disappointed, that’s what’s wrong with young people these days when things are getting a little tough and not going their way they run away from it no matter how much time someone has in helping them, like their time wasn’t worth anything. You really dropped the ball man. I hope you don’t waste anyone else’s time and you do everything on your own from now on.

Jake, my husband and I have followed you for years. We have been inspired by you and your journey for so long. Somewhere along the line, the spirit of you and your adventure got lost (usually involving passengers). The past year has been completely lost - content coming in once every few weeks is a far cry from your old, beautiful daily vlogs. Unfortunately, Jade is more important to this journey than you give credit. During the “van-life” craze, having a video “I’m living in my Jeep Wrangler” was a huge hook. I hate to say it, but we’ve been strung along for this whole year waiting for the next phase, which is now being abandoned. Everything that was sentimental and valuable from this channel is pretty much gone. We don’t find any of the past year intriguing anymore, and will be unsubscribing and ceasing to watch anymore. It’s honestly too sad to see the spirit of the journey die with the abandoning of your first sidekick - Jade the Jeep.

Farr Outdoors I didn’t even mention that. We knew from day 1, converting a 2 door to an overlanding machine was a colossal undertaking (which was a mistake to begin with; done to make room for passengers). If I had dedicated loyalty and money to Jade and the massive overhaul (glad I didn’t), I would be furious. It’s strange to see that more money-paying supporters aren’t more annoyed by this move. Oh well, I know I’m the minority, but it just sucks because we adored the episodes so much before.

I liked the channel when it was him, his girlfriend & her dog. And the costar was the natural landscape & new places to walk on your hands. When he went into the garage, nature fell away from the channel. This video, with the river so prominent, shows he knows he stopped delivering the product subscribers & donors liked. He can recover if he rededicates, back to the basics. Bring back the adventures of nature.

I think cancelling it is a bad idea IMO. So many people have donated time/money/products into getting this done and me personally, it would be a shame to just abandon it but that's just me. Sometimes we just have to suck it up and do finish what we started. I fully understand the want for a much needed break but don't cancel the entire project. Take some time away from it and then get back to it. Projects take time so it can take a year, 2 years or however long YOU want. I've enjoyed watching your Jeep adventures and have been following for some time now and it's certainly not going to be the same without Jade but hopefully things will get back to where you enjoy it again!

Jake, I really liked the original idea and videos of traveling in a jeep in 50 states. After you and your friend split and you said you needed to be alone then Kinsey came along immediately it seemed odd and contradictory. Then you went head first into a full restoration on Jade and now you don't want to finish, I gotta be honest this is too much drama with no follow through compared to the old but interesting content. It just seems odd you complain about not wanting to depend on people for building Jade but that's what patreon and KZbin provides you avenue's for financially. If you decide to do something and stick to it I may be back but for now I'm out. I can find many unfinished projects and dreams, starting in my garage on my own. Just my opinion, no hate. No hard feelings and I wish you the best.

As a fellow vet I am disappointed. Things get tough so you decide to bail. Seems like you've been a little lost and distracted this year. I know it was tough losing your dad and I think you need some guidance from a mentor. There are so many KZbinrs that are killing it and maybe you should take a look at what they are doing. What are your long term goals? Do you plan on being a KZbinr for many years or is this just a short term deal? You'll do what ever you want but perhaps you don't know what is best for you at your young age? I'd recommend talking to some older guys for advice. I think you need some direction. All the best to you and good luck.

Been following since wishbone but dude, what’s been up this past year? It’s like every other video there’s something. And than just abandoning the jade project after those people put so much work in to it? Just cause you’re wanting to spread your wings and fly? Come on man. I wanted to host you here in Texas but I feel like you leave a trail of drama and abandonment everywhere you go. I get Jade was taking forever but you started this project. You need to either finish it through or pay them for all the time, effort and work they put in to it. I feel like what you’re doing is based on selfish reasons. But I can’t conclude that because I don’t know the full story. I’ll still be a subscriber and follower of you. I’ll still support you, I just wanted to give some constructive criticism. 👍

@@Einar0805 from what Jake said in this video it looks like he did leave them the Jeep to do whatever they want and keep it. I'm going to wait to see their response video. I do think it's jacked up the way Jake handled the situation. but if he left them the Jeep then I think that's great for them because I think they were doing all this work for free anyways to help promote their business. So why not complete the Jeep how they want it.

Its just paint, metal and plastic, They make more every day, Getting emotionally attached to objects is not healthy. Its just a tool to use, you should not be a slave to it. I watch to see your adventures in life and appreciate you letting us come along.
@ben33084 жыл бұрын
Let me start by saying I think Jake should focus on his own wellbeing and mental health above all else. Next, to Jake: If you did this channel and gained followers to stick to the purpose you laid out, I’d feel differently about this outcome. Jake, we enjoyed the Jeep combined with your adventure. That’s why we wanted to watch. Your production values are not the best. Your informational content is not the best. Your personality as a vlogger is not the best. But together, your concept was sound and had a cool, achievable goal: 50 State ROADTRIP. Well, you never accomplished that. Life gets in the way. But as a young capable man, you just kinda abandoned your goals. With a full time job, I visited nearly 30 states in my own Jeep just using spare time the last 2 years. You couldn’t even manage it doing it FULL TIME. I just don’t get it, man. Why not just follow through with your plans? Just press on. Anyone else remember all the money he got to help with the channel and Jeep? Yeah, what happened to that. What happened with the money he got for the roof tent? Yeah, he never got it. I have accepted money for projects before. I have received millions of views on KZbin before. I know it’s tough. So if it’s tough, and you can’t live up to the challenge, then just give up the channel. Why expect the same support? You’ve failed at the goals you laid out for your audience. Maybe you mistook that this was just a vanity project people supported just because; I’m not sure, but sometimes it’s refreshing to hear hey, you’re not special. You had something people liked, but you misplaced their appreciation and abandoned it for something people don’t like. We were here for Jade and for you. Abandoning Jade is most of the reason we even subscribed. I think if you, Jake, want what’s best for you, then you have to just give this channel up and focus on yourself. I wish you well, my man, but I don’t think a self-effacing KZbin channel is really the right thing for you right now.

I never liked the plan to transform Jade into that goliath. I thought it would have been ideal to get a really good 4x4 truck to haul that camper of yours and get you atleast part way into some decent back country, and tow Jade in her original form behind for some serious off-roading adventures. I kinda felt that you, Kinsey and the dogs would be much happier in the long run that way.
