the thing with safespots like those ones is they don't work if the mobs are in melee range. You need to kite the mobs out of melee range and then get back into the safespot.

Within one second you noticed the safe spot wasn’t working and made the on the fly decision to jump off the safe spot and nova and then run out. You used sleeping dust on 1 guy, blast wave on another, blinked through 2 more mobs, nova’d 3 more, and then cone of colded the 4th guy all while under pressure almost escaping narrowly from the back of a cave while the entire cave of harpies was hitting you!

Sadly, the safe spot failed due to Xar letting the adds get too close. This could have possibly been salvaged by running out of the safe spot to nova the mobs away from it, then quickly jump back into it until combat drops. Regardless, another good attempt by Xar.

Mobs evade if they cant find a path to reach you, unless if they are ranged. if they are close so they can hit you then no need to find a path, same goes for ranged attacks, unless you also LoS them, then they evade too. The right play in this situation could be to jump out, run away a little, then nova and run back, so they are not in melee range at the safespot.

Weird fact but rank 2 frostbolt slows for 6s and is .3s longer of a cast so it can be more useful as fire in some scenarios.

Now you know. Next time. Safe spot didnt glitch. They cant PATH when you safe spot, but they can still TARGET. Meaning the mobs can still melee. But Xar caught this after the fact as I'm typing. If you are out of range and you safe spot it's safe. The best safe spots are out of line of sight, and far enough away, like that shack when he did the big stone lady w/ the elementals.

Just so you know ( i doubt you read these) safespots never work if a mob is in melee range. they can auto through walls once they stop moving. you could have lived if you had moved the mobs away from the safe spot, nova, and got back in the safe spot. GL next time.

Unlucky Xar, I think you could of fit a bandage after the nova/pot mana shield then sheeped that mob in front of you before the agro then blinked ran renovad then blinked out on cd of the cave reapplying mana shield when you could. But was a rough situation gl on the next mage ;)

Bandage is a bad call he was hit by that first harpy very early, and he had very little time left on nova, that one harpy that was not in the nova was the issye why the sheep didn't go through (he didn't see it when he started casting) but early sheep and manashield would have likely saved him. But in such a panic situation you don't expect this is almost impossible.

So it swapped to one right where the door closed and they fell through the elevator. Something that wouldn’t be a problem on a private server. Also since most folks on privates didn’t stream or record their gameplay even if it did happen it would be just brushed aside.
