There was one ever evolving card through all my runs, I knew getting to play it would immediately mean victory. I’ve noticed in the final phase not drawing it made the games more fun, working hard to preserve the riskier buffs on that phase also gave me a good indirect challenge. I’ve loved the way it made me understand my reaction to a system not necessarily by finding the best strategy, but by enjoying teetering on the adaptable edge between victory and loss. Also I might’ve trusted what the cards asked of me too much. Before I’ve understood some sacrifice mechanics I’ve seen a talking card ask to be sacrificed, and thus missed a potential personality for most of the final phase. Tho it might’ve been written to have basic reactions only 🤷♂️ 10/10 would reflect on what is it that I enjoy about games by pushing the potential causes of enjoyment from them to the limit again, just like pony island

Thanks for not talking to me about it, excited to check it out!

Excellent work here! Loved how unsettling it all felt and how you went in to breakdown how other deck-builder roguelikes fancy a different framing on mechanics than Inscryption. I’ll have to check it out soon if I can cuz I love me some rogues :)

I loved this game, but I only made like 2 deathcards because I have already played so many deck building roguelikes that Act 1 was basically not about the card playing at all to me.

Great video. I believe I’m nearing the end of the game right now and more people should play this.

As someone whos chronically allergic to card games Ive never been more interested in playing one...thanks for this! With that said, if Ive barely played any card games, would Inscryption land for me? Like how undertale wont make a lot of sense if it's your first rpg

Thanks for watching! It still very much is a card game through and through so if you're not a fan of card games at all, you might want to give it a miss. With that said, as far as card games go, it's certainly one of the best ones I've played and is very easy to pick up if you've not played many card games before.

this is an old comment but i want to leave my 2 cents for anyone else passing through personally, i have never liked card games. i find them pretty boring and hard to care about. but inscryption is one of my favorite games in recent years, so i don't think you need to enjoy card games to enjoy it although some awareness of the culture surrounding card games is probably beneficial

I really like this video but there’s just one huge problem. You pause unnecessarily on ALMOST. TOO. OFTEN. Completely ruins the flow of the video despite the effort you put into having good audio. Please change the way of how you talk. You dont, always, have to put, emphasis, on every word and, make pauses, so, often. This is exactly how you sound like and i have to watch at 1.5x to make the narration tolerable and I still feel that the words are disjointed even at that speed.

Yeah, this is a good point. I think it's probably worse for this video because that's the atmosphere that I'm trying to convey but I can see how it's annoying. Thanks for the feedback.

@Loook Click uh that's kind of subjective. the narration sounds really good to me. also you could have delivered that in a nicer manner.

I couldn't disagree more with this comment. Harry knows exactly what he is doing and it is perfect. Please do _not_ change the way you talk.
