Mate, you’re doing great! Not a week…or maybe even day…especially this time of year I question why I’m a farmer. Why I choose this bloody farm and whether it will ever get better?? Been doing that for 35 years. Haven’t packed it in yet. 3 farms later it still hasn’t beaten me cuz I just love it and the livestock so much!!! And we raise vexatious jerseys!🙄

You can do everything right , but there are aggravating problems like other people and their dogs that are beyond your control. Working in isolation certainly makes problems hit you even more deeply. Thanks for bringing us along. 👍👍😊

Chris you are a crack up - that story you told of the guy who's dog won't chase (I persume not do the wild thing) the sheep becasue it is neutered - I am still laughing at that one - nearly spat my coffee across the room - Morning from New Zealand, from the selection of vlogs that were posted overnight yours was the first I watched

Make sure to inform the dog owner harasses your sheep that they are liable for all damages caused, also if you are there when harassment is happening that you could pew, pew the dog, as they are a little clueless it may help save some sheep’s lives,

Maybe all those grey rainy days helping you feel down? I have no idea how you fix the kind of stupid that dog owner oozes. Saw a video over on sheepgame where the dog walkers didnt even ask how a bike rider was after the dogs they couldnt control attacked him. Its just unbelievable. You are a very patient and kind man to be worrying more about his small child than your livelihood. You are an excellent human being. I hope you have sunny and cheery days ahead with no interactions with dogs! Very ingenious foot bath!

Some dog owners really have no idea!! Give him one chance if dog goes for sheep say I’m putting electric tho it!! He could put a long training line so he still got control of dog!! A picket fence would look fine and not ruin the view x

Tell the owner to walk the dog on the lead upto the the fence and make sure it gets a shock. It works a treat. I had a landowner do it with his own dog never was a problem after that.

Farming is one of the hardest and heartbreaking jobs there is, and farmers are the toughest and most resilient people out there. Then again, there are the msgical moments that make it all worthwhile. You are a credit to the farming breed. Im a cattle girl myself, but I love your sheep videos. I do think you should get teeshirts printed up with "Shall We?" on. Although we ladies might find it taken the wrong way! 😂

And that is exactly the kind of person who should never be allowed to own a dog. What the flip? Who would rent a house with no fence when they have a dog? If you see it out report to the council dog warden. I did that with one that used to wander onto my land and it soon stopped.

I haven't seen the 🌞for a month, I knew it was up there somewhere 😎. What is it with people & dags, there everywhere & they treat them like people 🙄. Spending big money on them, stinking up the house & car, carrying poo bags everywhere. Dog hair every where. Barking at nothing. Really there not that bright either 🦧

Years ago, I went with my brother-in-law to an organic farm where they bought turkeys for the holidays. I saw the scruffy farm dog madly humping away at a disinterested young calf in the barn. The farmer was more concerned about having his sons spread a fresh bale of straw over the muddy floor so my City-boy footwear wouldn't get ankle-deep in cow poop. Clearly, the action of their *shaggy* dog was of no great note to them. Naively, I suppose, inter-species "dating" on a farm was not something I'd much considered before. Though I fully comprehend the encounter's biological limitations, it put me right off their "organically farmed meats."

Exactly right. I am sorry for the legions of people that have been detached from their food source and the amazing dance that is farming. YOU DO know how to educate people. Share this and channels like it. Talk to friends about things they never knew existed. Talk to them about how sheep on a grain field can help reduce or PREVENT chemicals from being used to control weeds or disease in the grain crop. Make those sheep important to your friends PERSONALLY. Every bloke enjoys a pint. Wouldn't it be better if the pint came from a field of barley winter grazed by sheep. When you see that friend with a dog wanting to hike through the lambing field to see the lambs... stop them. Spread the word about staying ON walking paths and keeping dogs on the leash. Also spread the word about not dumping your garbage or stealing the gates off the hinges. Every stolen gate is more cost to the farmer and less lamb roast on the table. Be a tv generation WARRIOR Nancy. We farmers are depending on people just like YOU.

Best not to use the formalin when it has crystallised like that. It is usually caused by frost. Might reduce the efficacy of the treatment.

It's sadly not just city folk. I have a cousin who's currently living on our grandparents' old land. His neighbor found his dogs eating on one of the neighbors' dead calves. My cousin is so defensive that his dogs would never and he shouldn't have to put them on a lead and he won't pay for the dead calf. Our whole family has told him he's in the wrong and he needs to do something about his dogs, but he won't listen. His neighbor is going to kill those dogs to protect their livelihood and the only one to blame is my idiot cousin.
