Zach Johnson, the “Millennial Farmer” is a 5th-generation farmer who’s spent his life growing, working, and learning on his family’s farm. His wit and dry sense of humor appeal to children and adults alike. A product of the millennial generation, his appreciation of new technology blends with his old-fashioned work ethic, and he offers a unique ability to deliver his message in a way that resonates with lifelong farmers as well as those with no knowledge of agriculture. With growing consumer awareness about where their food comes from, Zach has identified the need for an independent voice from the front lines of agriculture. Zach actively promotes agriculture by sharing his day-to-day experiences in the agriculture world while providing farmer-to-farmer education to help facilitate a collaborative conversation between farmers and the public.

Hey Zach, I work for Minnehan Metal Works, where you got your Mud Ox kit. I'll let Anthony know about that extra shield that caused you to have a bolt that was too short. Thanks for getting another kit from us! I hope you don't have to use it, but if you do, you'll be glad to have it on!

Hi - My father was a cow farmer before and a little while after I was born. He passed away on Friday. You’ve mentioned a bunch of times that organization of farmers helping farmers. I’d like to donate in my father’s memory. Please give me the information so I can proceed. Thank you. Farming must have agreed with him. He would have been 99 on the 20th of this month. Thank you !!

Thanks for another great video. Most interesting. Like that cable system you are putting on the newest combine. Not super hard to install and really nice to have in case the combine gets stuck in a wet spot. Good idea to have that Zach. Nice job. MayWest sure makes good items for the farmers. Those skid plates they put on stock stoppers is a really good idea. Protects the steel plate and puts pressure on the stock to bend it over. Good idea. Getting the combine ready for harvest. Harvest time not far away and then will be ready to go. Yeah. About it I guess. Thanks for everything. Take care and be safe. The Iowa farm boy. Steve.

That's actually a shackle. A shackle is used for rigging cables or chains. A clevis is different. The end of the tongue on a wagon has a U-shaped clevis that attaches to the drawbar on the tractor with a clevis pin.

5:50 I’m surprised they don’t give you bolt type shackles instead of having to mouse (pit the wire in and tie off) the pin type. Bolt type shackles have a cotter pin that keeps the nut from backing off the pin.

Clevis...shackle....same thing. Only difference is a shackle is for heavy duty applications. The plural form of the word "clevis" is "clevises". Forming plural nouns can be difficult. To form the plural form of the word, you'll base it on the last letter or last two letters of the singular word form.

I learned the hard way about towing things. I was unaware there was a tow hook, a very heavy threaded rod with a big heavy eye on the end that screwed into the frame of the car. The tow truck driver just hooked on somewhere under the car, winched it on and we took off, There was a loud bang and I figured it was just some slack in the cable. a few miles later, I look back and see a puddle of oil on the bed of the truck. The oil pan cracked and that was that. Had a good fight with the tow company. I did not realize I did not have the tow hook. I do now. Always to have a way to tow responsibly

Hope the neck gets better and tomorrow is MUCH better. Of course I'm not a machinist but to me it seems like the rear plate, if put in a too soft situation , is going to increase the chances of getting stuck even more. Being that its a substantial horizontal plate to grab mud and then also when you're trying to pull it out its going to be holding onto the mud. I can see where the strong plates would give something to grab onto, but the way its designed seems to add a harder situation.

The rear of the combine rarely gets buried. A vast majority of the weight is on the front axle. The rear bracket is just there to keep the cables pulling from center, which is the safest way to pull it out.
