That build looks very similar to the Skar amplifiers I have, besides the outer heatsink. But the terminals look pretty much the same. Never opened them to know if they're the same internally but at least from the input/outputs they look almost identical.

Most amp companies these days (particularly Skar, Sundown, Deaf Bonce, and B2) use the same build houses and thus the same designs. The Chinese and Korean companies approach these companies with their products and offer to throw their logos on them for pretty cheap.

The Chinese bought them all out at the end of production to throw those cheap class D boards everywhere on the market...or they managed to copy it so well that Infineon said no more....It is sad how many parts are going away, it's even far worse with through hole. In ten years or so it's going to be all just printed modules with a certain programmed lifetime.

Sam have you ever worked on any Seismic Audio Amplifiers. They have a really high power 4 channel class D I'm interested in buying. Its supposed to be a 1500 watt rms 4 channel for $200. I was wondering if you've ever seen them and what your thoughts are on them if you have.

You checked auxiliary voltage without any load. What if some of those big smd resistors burned out and it resistance is now much higher? :)

Hi Sam... Irs2092 seems powered by external +/-5V rails supplying vaa and vee pins. It is claimed on dataheet that this provides better noise performance. It it pure BS.... IRS2092 will always be killed when the vaa/vee rails collapse before the main power rails. Spent a lot of time on it and did not find a solution. In my opinion is a chip design error not documented anywhere. The only reliable way to power irs2092 is to derive vaa/vee rails directly from the main rails trough resistors as explained in the dataheet. Providing external 5v rails is simply not possible and the chip will be damaged sooner or later.... If you are able to source irs2092 please modify the circuit completely removing the external 5v rails and adding 2 resistors per chip providing vaa/vee supplies. I have even contacted IR/infineon in the past but they never admitted this design error on their chip....

Is this profitable? I have been thinking of getting into this but theyre quite high value / high risk and I imagine a lot of the time it's the GPU itself which would be a no fix if reflowing doesnt work?

@@gorgonismztruth1551 Yeah, but are they Novice users who clipped the crap out of it or had an underrated electrical system for what they were doing? I've met people who talk smack on products that they damaged through their own neglect. No 8k amp is going to last when its running on a stock 120amp alt with no extra batteries, but to the guy running it like that who blew that will cry about the company like it made a bad product when really they neglected it....

@@Jamez84 i agree. A lot of people do not know how to set thare stuff. Even in my old days i use 2 big battery in my car 1f cap for the amp for subwoofer. And a alternator that do 120a . And still i kill the alternator of the Porsche. And that on a 2x60 a subwoofer amp and 1x40a 4way amp for the door speakers. 1x40a 2way amp for the rear speakers.
