Been fishing up there roughly 10 times a year since 1992. There is no where better. Lot try, but Cedar Springs is the best. FWIW, u could really use a good long handle net. Canberra cumbersome but very necessary up there. Good video and nice one for sure

@LastCastFishingCrewLCFC Last few years I've been lugging 3 rods up there. One with Trout Magnet set up, one with spinner and a 3rd rigged for bait. I look like I'm headed out on a weekend camping trip. LOL, it has paid dividend time and again though.

I agree ..one big key to successful Trout Fishing is to switch up different presentations! Different colors / lures / baits etc

Yes, it was a weekend day…probably 15-20 people there. I just fished at open holes and most left around lunch!

This is an awesome place to go. I try to make it 3 or 4 times a year. Last year caught 3 over 7lbs in one day, but never a 8 like yours. Just hard to get in Cedar Springs. Those guy's stay booked!! Congrats on your PB

Moral of the story: Don’t bring a dink trout net to cedar springs! 😊 Nice fish! Was this on the smaller private stream or the big stream? Taking my dad up there soon. I Ve fished the big stream 15 years or so ago, but never fished the small stream. Have you had those trout magnet jig heads break on 4lb test?

Ha ha I agree about the net! I was on the big stream! I have have fished both streams several times. You can wear yourself out walking that big stream back and forth. I have always done better on the smaller stream. It’s less walking and has smaller pockets on the top 2/3 so you know exactly where the fish should be sitting. You will fine with 4lb test just have your drag set right…those jig heads will start to bed -just switch them out. Tight lines from LCFC.

How many pounds is the line you use?

I will typically use Berkley’s Vanish brand 4lb fluoro. Unless it’s crystal clear and I’m trying to catch wild trout I might go to 2lb. It’s all about the drag and tying good knots! Thanks for watching and the comments! Tight lines from LCFC!
