I CAUGHT A BIG JEWFISH!! (Mulloway) | Catch n Cook On The Beach

In this catch and cook episode we chase MONSTER JEWFISH! Annnnnd we succeed!
Shooting over to the break wall to catch our live bait in order to catch these elusive jewfish! Once we’ve caught our livebait we hit the beach, set up on our location overlooking the breakers and deep gutters.
As the sun goes down we catch a species of fish such as Whiting and Taylor, followed by dinner over the hot coals. Shortly afterwards we get the hit of a lifetime!
A big jewfish swallowed our livebait and the fight is on.., watch to see what happens next!!

Bro I noticed you were using a single hook rig i think . How did you cast out the livie without destroying it or was the gutter you were fishing close in . Everytime I try using livies they just fly off so i end up using dead baits.

Hi mate, yeah the gutters were in pretty close, especially as the tide was nearly high that’s when we caught them, hook the livies up through the back

Maybe try paternoster style rig where sinker is at the bottom and on the outside of your arc as you cast. (if you are not already). If sinker was above your swivel and fish at the end, it is getting extra whipped as you cast. Nice smooth cast as well obv.
