“Get those pieces of s@#t out of there”. Top job hooking up and removing them from the creek. You’d think the high water has allowed them to move around but I love the way you moved those carp around from the water to the grass bank. Best place for them. I’d hate to see what havoc just those two could have done in such a precious waterway and the impact that would have had on the trout population. Keep doing your great environmental work 👍 Thanks for sharing Love your work Healthy habits

We chop up carp into steaks, pop them in the freezer and use them as crab bait to catch delicious blue swimmer crabs in spring and summer 😊🤤😋 Do you do this or do you use them as fertilser or chook feed?

I usually just kill them and throw them back in the water to feed the ecosystem. I do occasionally use them as yabby or crau bait.

Apart from the fight, the best thing about catching big carp is the fact that each one removed is a few thousand eggs that don't get spawned next season. Job well done. I still find it funny that redfin and trout are introduced, but we like them, while carp are evil lol. They're all invasive pests to me. Go to Kmart and buy an EVA sleeping mat. Cut off a piece about 50cm square and roll up and stick in your kit. Instant water=proofing for sitting on wet grass.

Hey Robbie great video as usual, I’m heading down to somewhere on the Murray around the end of October for my 70th birthday and hoping to catch some yellow belly or other fish I can eat. Any suggestions as to any particular area to go. I love catching and eating fish, but know nothing of the area as I live in port Lincoln SA.
@robbiefishing2 жыл бұрын
Thanks Garry. To be honest mate I don't know the Murray River overly well. But what I do know is that it is at its moderate flood level at Corowa (40km from where I live) and it's hard to image that there will be very many areas open at the end of October. Most of the river up my way is already inaccessible due to flooding.

Hi Robbie. I have a suggestion for a place to catch carp. I'm not sure of the name of the river but I used to go there with my dad . It's in Rosedale and there's a drawbridge there. We used to catch a lot of carp filled up the back of the station wagon

Hey Robbie I've been wondering if you know how goldfish are hand bred? I've been curious if it would have an impact on the carp population if anglers were to do this and then release the fertilized eggs back into the water somewhere safe.
@robbiefishing2 жыл бұрын
Hi Kay, I have no idea sorry. I've never been into aquariums. I wouldn't be releasing any forms of carp/goldfish into any waterways though as it has the potential to be quite destructive to the waterways.
@Kay13Jay2 жыл бұрын
@@robbiefishing The eggs and sperm can be easily squeezed out of carp. You mix it together in a bucket of water and that's how goldfish are bred and how they were able to make the different types of genetic defected pet goldfish. I'm very curious what would happen if anglers were doing this with the carp before taking them or putting them back. I imagine that the population would increase enormously but would that in turn be negative towards the other fish or environment.
