Fun fact: HGSS has a VERY odd event with Arceus cuz you can trigger the event 2 times. This is because the game has, HARDCODED, that you can get 2/3 DPPlat Legends. But the odd part is, the event triggers ONCE for an event Arceus, which was the way people usually got it AND ONCE for an Arceus caught in DPPlat with the Azure Flute. This means that it was ALWAYS intended for Arceus to be distributed on DPPlat, they just chose not to

I like how BDSP can be speed ran to be able to obtain multiple Arceus Of course to unlock Arceus within a speed run file you will need to have an already completed Legends Arceus file on the same account, catch the box legendary in each new save, and have seen every regional dex Pokemon For unlocking National dex, I suggest seeing what Pokemon you don’t see via mandatory trainer battles and have them in home or another save to quickly send them to the speed run file, save, then send those Pokemon back to be reused for the next speed run save

I remembered when I hunted mine a few months back. I did runaways to help with future poffin making for ribbon mastery. The biggest excitement was the test captures here and there. Instead of Master Balling, I wnated a Luxury Ball. I had a Breloom that was perfect. Jolly and maxed out speed made him faster than even Jolly max speed IV Arceus, one X Sp Def allowed Breloom to tank Future Sight and Hyper Beam on the same turn, and one X Attack was enough for False Swipe to outdo Recover. Ball number 30, I got shiny that appeared after 12k encounters

I'm not entirely sure Masuda wasn't being truthful. I hacked my flute in and it was really straight forward. He made it sound like we needed to play an OoT minigame or something for it to work, but no, you just have the flute in your inventory and go to the top of Mt. Coronet with it. It's more likely a bug prevented it from being distributed. I don't have my DPP copies anymore, but I wonder if you got the flute before doing the Mt. Coronet stuff, if the staircase to Hall of Origin would softlock the game and prevent progression.

You forgot to mention that you need to have all Pokémon caught in the legends arceus pokedex and you also have to confront arceus, and you have to beat the elite four in either Pokémon brilliant diamond and shinning pearl in order for the azure flute to appear in your bedroom in either brilliant diamond or shinning pearl,while still having the save data for Pokémon legends arceus on your switch.

Everything true you said is covered at 7:32. Only restriction that wasn't covered there is that you need to be Champion for the Azure Flute to work (not to get it) but that's barely a restriction considering how much progress is already necessary to reach the Spear Pillar.

I was saying that what Shiny Catherine covered all the true stuff you said, and then explained the only thing that she didn't cover (which is still different than what you said: using vs getting). Also, the other person's game was not hacked. Look at the video, the Azure Flute IS there on new saves. I personally got it around the 5th or 6th Gym (I'm not sure exactly when but I know it was pre-League because I beat the game a very long time later).

Update after my previous comment: I too Now have a Shiny Arceus. After (about) 5 total days of near constant soft resetting of my Shining Pearl cartridge my Wild encounter Arceus turned shiny! It's a Bashful nature was caught on 08/01/2024 and was caught in luxury ball. It's stat spread in terms of the in pc ratings are: HP: pretty good Attack: Best! Defense: Fantastic Sp.atk: Best! Sp.def: Best! Speed: pretty good. I am so happy to have this Pokémon. I'd like to thank Catherine for her videos inspiring me to persevere with this hunt in the event of this outcome.

The thing about the Regis was that they were easy as soon as you knew how to translate braille, which the games had a decoder for in their instruction booklet. My biggest difficulty with the puzzles as a kid was catching a Relicanth.

For reference about the odds, with a 1/4096 shiny odd you "only" have 63% chance to get a shiny with 4096 encounters. So the previous encounters made Catherine quite lucky!

I love Arceus and the shiny. It’s the only Pokemon I would ever put that much effort into hunting, and I did! I remember it clear as day, I was playing bloodborne on one screen and hunting on the other. After an early 2,764 resets, the golden boy was mine! I regret nothing and it’s great to see others appreciate Arceus too.

Arceus is just such a special Pokémon. It in a lot of ways does feel like it’s truly _mythical._ I hunted my own shiny Arceus as well, and I made it a ribbon master as well, something I’ve never done for any other mon. I think because doing ribbon master felt right for a Pokémon as unique as shiny Arceus.

I cant believe that to yhis day yhe official statement of why the Azure Flute was never released was confusion and difficulty, we had the Regis back then and then you have the evolution methods of modern day like Runerigus, Annihilape, and Ursaluna.
