Fun fact I found my shiny Skorupi two months after the game came out, caught it, didnt know what shiny Drapion looked like and evolved it. Cried for a solid 5 minutes. 15 months later I have yet to find a new shiny Skorupi

Two months in dating my wife I was showing Pokémon X/Y to her, she picked up the 2DS for the first time, just walked in to the nearest patch of grass and her first encounter was a pink Skorupi! I said "OK KEEP IT COOL BUT THIS IS VERY RARE" :D

So I'm pretty sure Arlie won't read this but here goes nothing. Capturing every single pokemon from the first "wave" of a massive mass Outbreak is not the only way to roll for shinies. If you change the number of pokemon you remove at a time, you will change the roll for the other remaining pokemon. Example: let's say there are 10 Skorupi on the first wave and in the next wave there are 8 Drapion. You captured every single one, that means you removed one at a time and there was no shiny. Now, if you reload and remove 2, 3 or 4 at a time, you'll change the next rolls and the remaining Skorupi or even the Drapion may include a shiny. So, instead of capturing one at a time, you can battle against 2 Skorupi and capture both, that means you removed 2, thus changing the rolls. You can do that with all the 10 Skorupi with different values to keep rolling (capture 2 at a time, or capture 3, then battling 1 and so on). I hope it's not too complicated to understand lol.
