The reason ditto couldn’t copy moltress move was because he didn’t have any fire Pokémon on his bench not because he didn’t have fire energy on ditto, he could have used fire blast but not inferno dance

No, Ditto also needs the correct energy typing as well. So even if he did have a fire pokemon on the bench, he would still not be able to use Inferno Dance I am pretty sure. I might be wrong though, as I did not test it, but this is what I have read.
