Some people have dandruff so persistent even after perming and/or washing they still have flakes. A tip one can do is put an old stocking or knee high stocking on your brush and push until the bristles are protruding. Then section and brush through the sections several times. The stocking will remove excess oils and flakes.

Keeping healthy permed hair means lots of hydration. From inside and out. So I use protein treatments for strength, minimal heat styling and rotate hairstyles. I wear braids once I have new growth to minimize breakage between touch ups and protect your ends trims at touch up time and oil or Vaseline on ends to protect during wash day. As long as you don't over process your hair will be down your back even with a relat relaxer

You did an amazing job with this look. Before I decided to go natural my mom steamed our hair two weeks before it was dew another perm. Molasses and eggs were two main ingredients she mixed to keep our hair healthy. Our home was never out of Jamaican Castor oil. This was not store bought because we bought it directly from the country (suburbs in Jamaica). Drinking lots of water to keep the hair hydrated worked.
