Fun Fact: The Greeks actually had a fifth element they called æther that connects all the other elements, so it's actually lore accurate.
@MiloW456Ай бұрын
Whoa what?! I thought Aether was one of the wind gods!
@hollowbook3088Ай бұрын
@@MiloW456 This is my favourite area so let me nerd a little bit: many things in greek mithology share the same name, for association or simply for sincretism over many secol of oral tradition. Examples are Hades, that is both the name of the god that of the underworld itself. For the name aether the story is pretty similar. Aether is the name of one of primordial gods, one of the first being to exist in the greek cosmology, and is the god of the light and the "upper sky". What is the upper sky? The Greeks believed that the sky was divided in more segment: the night sky, the daily sky, the sky without stars and etcetera. Between the various sky existed the upper sky, believed to be the place where the gods lives and breath. Aether was the name of the substance that the god breathed in this upper sky, another type of air different from the one that mortals breath. So the name is valid both for the primordial god that for the element. PS. the name aether and the concept of this extra element that is there but invisible for us mortal beings was popular until relatively little time ago: physicists actually believed in the 19th century that the aether was the way that light used for travel in the vastness of space

While I know Joel knocked it out of the park with his castle design, I think this one was the best for the playthrough experience. It's a perfect mix of puzzles, parkour, and brawl, much like a true dungeon type puzzle. I think the only thing that would've made it better is if the keys each had their own slot to be submitted in, like a multi-lock dungeon door, probably done with the new decorated pots as you could use the pictures to designate which key goes where: burn for fire, flow for air, and probably brewer for water and miner for earth.

Bad idea: Every single player has their own unique trait that is needed to complete rooms What are these traits? Probably like potion effects where a person has a permanent water breathing, or permanent jump boost, anything. Others can be swiftness or fire resistance. It can also be negative but needed like permanent levitation and everyone has fishing rods to hook that player down. There can also be a normal one with no effects but the others has permanent blindness The list really goes on What are they used for? There can be plates or buttons that needs to be triggered for a room to complete. Only specific effects has the ability to go in specific plates to press them. This is great for teamwork and it prevents players to rush alone and leave others behind. How can this traits be obtained? There are two ways i could think of 1. It can be embedded on some armor pieces, which can be done through command blocks. These armor can be already obtained at the start, or be obtained each puzzle. This allows combinations of effects for mor puzzles, but it can be a bit hard to tinker more puzzles. 2. It can be apllied from the start through commands. This can make puzzles less overwhelming to create. It also opens up for more traits like making a player one block tall. How can we make it more challenging? Could be anything Im thinking about pico park mechanics, where if someone dies, everyone dies. That's all that i can recommend, quite overwhelming but i hope it is fun Thanks for reading

It would be too much for 15 minutes but you could make a really fun adventure map by giving each player unique equipment to use and make them solve puzzles where they have to help each other advance through different sections: - Player 1 (fire): flame (cross)bow + fire resistance ... can light wool blocks, hit targets/buttons with arrows, and traverse lava/fire - Player 2 (air): wind charges + mace (and eventually elytra + rockets) - Player 3 (water): trident + turtle helmet - Player 4 (earth): axe + feather fall ... can cut wood blocks - Player 5 (void): sword + shield (and eventually ender pearls)
