19:47 bro does it like how my OG de facto in house producer Soleternity used to rock in Acid Pro 6, using zero midi. Completely baffled me when I saw it after working together long distance for years (LA and Atl). He moved to Cali, and I saw how he was MAKING all of my beats for me (and Bonecrusher, Medusa, Etc.) this was like 15-20 years ago when the rest of us was on Peter Quistgaard cracks but I mean, no MPC? No SP? Just moving drum samples around with a mouse. THIS young man is in 2024 with FL24 on that same steez tho. It’s FL 24 and some people still not even using midi when it’s right there, you can still use a mouse to do it. (Personally, I’m a Maschinist. Native Instruments all day with it. I’ve almost never not used a Maschine except a couple times in Studio One.) I tried to explain why Maschine was easier to Sol, he would NOT BUDGE. He even MADE one of their official expansions (True School) and had a few maschines from beat battles, them hiring him to do that True school. Wouldn’t budge off his rinky dink set up. Conclusion: there simply IS no “best way” to compose beats. Whatever you use, however you have BEEN doing it? Never let anyone move you off ya square. 🤷🏽♂️
