i’ve watched several of these VODs with bingo/races of other kinds and what i’ve noticed every time is that while cj i think is more technically proficient at the game, Ant’s ability to quickly and dynamically both build and then adjust his route is what makes him stand out from other runners, and what makes him very hard to beat. this is why he beats crow at botw and linkus at mc lockouts. they’re both better at those games than ant, but can’t keep up with his understanding of the flow of speed running and his ability to run circles around them strategically. he’s too giga brain
@Nukepositive3 жыл бұрын
mentally keeping track of how many parts you've done when a tile takes 3,4,5, etc. takes some brain power, too, and Smant is just a little better at keeping track of it all.
@Lorddragonfang3 жыл бұрын
As he's shown with his blindfolded runs, Ant's real skill that distinguishes him from other runners is being able to keep the whole virtual playspace in his head and make decisions based on that.

you can still post text if you put it with bits.. it can take as little as about a cent depending on channel minimum (I think there was a minimum on Smallant at the time of this video) it's currently 5 bits as of me writing this, idk what it was at the time.. but I'm surprised more people don't do that.. it's like 5 cents to spoil something well, people do and mods quickly delete it.. but surprised it doesn't happen more often well, I guess in this case it'd be CJ's chat you'd need to post in

@@Guapo_Oppai You misunderstand, I didn't mean both Smallant and Cjya both do huge grinds, I meant speed running and day-long nuzlockes both take huge amounts of time even though speed runs goal is to do it as fast as possible, you have to spend a bunch of time looking at the same details over and over. So it was inaccurate to say that smallant exists in both attention extremes because it's all just long grindy, relatively boring material he sifts through. The opposite of that would look something like high level strategy games where it takes an evolving perspective and in the moment snap decision making. I've seen evidence that smallant has a compatibility for that type of thing because of the versus speedruns he does, how he changes strategy to match his opponents actions. However that has nothing to do with the actual speed runs which are nothing if not a grind.

I swear Tanner has a surpisingly big vocal range, he can go super low as his radio voice showed us and once in a stream he shouted a scream mixed with a wheeze that almost sounded like the whistle register some female singers can hit. It's a shame he doesn't seem to like singing because with some practice he could be extraordinary...
