While I think a single map originally created in AoE2 and basically ported over to 4, similar to other maps, is very weak evidence for Incas, I will say that the Incan time period works well. Similar to the later-skewed Mongol & Malian windows. "The Inca Empire, which flourished from approximately 1200 to 1533 AD[...]"

Ah, but have you considered that it could well be 2 maps? "A lake rests in the cradle of a mountainous region," and what lake could better fit that description than Lake Titicaca, high up in the Andes and smack dab in the center of the Incan Empire.

@@rovsea-3761 Gulf of Mexico maybe?It has the ocean and behind it a mountain range. Aztecs were in the Gulf of Mexico.
