Guys. Basic rule. Anna is super distracting so don't look at her, don't respond to her questions, be super scared when she is chatting away on HER time and not bothering to move. Just pretend you are somewhere else. It will delay your loss.

Oooh I'm from the Netherlands and thought "hey I can read the posters on the wall😅" But now to the game, Anna says "you play quite well" but let's be honest....Snurre moved only his much to early queen around and get a punishment for that. Anna forked him with a check, she could take his rook, but chose for the pon instead....and looked at Snurrre's face at that moment. Wondering if he actually saw that or not. So she makes a second forked on the other side with a check....again Anna didn't take the rook and I thought...oh Anna doesn't want to hurt him to much, but I was wrong! She saw a checkmate coming, that's why she didn't take the rook😂 Always love to see Anna play and talk and her body language ❤

Then your opponant turns up, she is a young woman, with a dazzling smile and wonderful personality, ( and pretty damn good at the game as well) I have to admit, personally there is no way I could concentrate LOL. Greetings from Norway 🙂 In english: Snorre Sturlason was an Icelandic chieftain, historian and poet, and belonged to one of the most powerful families in Iceland, so Snorre is an old Norse name. It is made from the verb spin. The name may have meant 'the swift' or 'the fearless'. Greetings from Norway 🙂

Over forty years ago I played a similar game, but with black, against a guy named Victor Tudisco. After I chased his queen around for the fourth move in succession he let out an audible groan. After I beat him he refused to shake hands and stormed off. The thought of it still amuses me to this day. I still have the score sheet.

I have had a few people like that. They only play on computers or their phones. The board, they say, throws them off. I like the board as I have to be more attentive to it than if I were looking at the 2d representation of the board.

@@Farinhir I'm old school too. I'm pretty sure I would play better over the board, where I can see all the pieces as solid objects that have mass and take up space.

Magnus Carlsen probably won't beat me at chess, but that's only because he probably doesn't know who I am.

Here in Minnesota there are many Swedes and Norwegians. They have the same kind of rivalry I see in this video. My Swedish American father and my Norwegian American mother-in-law used the talk the same way as these two. I think it is the only way to maintain the illusion that there is some important difference between the two countries.
