WIM is very different than an IM and significantly weaker. It’s not that surprising for one to get wiped off the board by a GM, although in 9 moves is unusual.

The better you get, the better your opponents you face. At some point you just know it's not worth the suffering waiting for the final defeat. Yhh you try a bit, but at some point, you know your opponent will convert and you have no meaningful counterplay.

@@ifbfmto9338 something to make them feel important I guess. Although me personally I would take that as an insult. But there’s only 1 woman in chess history (Judit Polgar) that was able to keep up with top men chess players. I don’t know why it is that women are worse at chess than men are, but they definitely shouldn’t have their own rating system. Give everyone the same system and the women that really care about it will strive to reach their deserved titles.

@@tylersoexclusive713 I think the reason these exclusive titles exist is to make it more appealing for young girls to join the game because chess is just a male dominated discipline. Just take a look into a tournament hall of an open tournament. It's like 95-98% men. Given that distribution I say it's no wonder there are so few female GMs

@@tylersoexclusive713 Actually women do have the same rating system as men and lot of them do have GM titles, the highest title you can have in chess except for being a World Champion. Hou Yifan was also fighting with the best players and was at least in the top 100 at her best but I think she treat it more as a hobby now and have another career outside of chess. Maybe the reason there are so few world class women chess players is that women are more "normal" than men and are not ready to spend 8 hours a day for 10 years to become a world class player and treat it more as a hobby.

About early wins, this reminds me when I was a student, our school was invited to a tournament. There were 20 teams of 4 in total. Our first match was against a very strong team (the guy on the first board was rated above 2300...). I was playing at the third board and next to me was a player who we had to find at last minute since one of our players wasn't able to play that week-end. Before the game, he asked for a trap and the guy of the second board showed him an opening trick that ends with a smothered mate. So we start the games - these were rapid games with 20 minutes and no increment - and after 2 minutes I heard "Mate!" on my left. I looked at the board and I saw the exact position of the trap! That completely changed the entire match since our opponents started to panick. A few minutes later, I played c6, forking a bishop and a rook. My opponent tried to save the rook and my next move was not cxb7 but c7, TRAPPING THE QUEEN on her original square! 2-0. We finally won by 4-0 a match we should have lost by the same score.

That was a great explanation, I don't know if this works at that level, what I have done and it has worked out great is to place my white square bishop on e6 and then my queen on C8 which provides a 2 for 1 exchange if the knight stays. However I can see that the knight likely moves out and then back to f3 strengthening their position

I play closed as white, from time to time and I find that Bd2 is preferable to Be3, to avoid setting up a fork on d4 (if black moves a pawn there). Not doing Be3 and letting black block his kingsbishop with all his pawns is quite okay. Also, with an early Bd2 you open for Qc1, threatening Bh6.

I continued the game after move 9, I don't think WIM would've won, because of the Pawn on F3, but that's a skill issue, if WIM was on par during this game, this game would actually still be playable after making a mistake like that.

I thought that this white square bishop of the white would take on his black counterpart as it was anyway the "bad" bishop due to the white structure of the black. Couldn't anticipate the double chess of the knight on D4 going then to F5 though. Brilliant game.

I'm a beginner, so I guess that's why I still don't understand what is the big deal with this. It wasn't exactly a game-ending moment. In this situation, I feel that the opponent just didn't want a prolonged game, which would be a nightmare to win. Anyways, I'm still learning. Thank you for the videos, keep up the good work! ^_^
