Having worked for a publisher, it is my belief that book designers should SERVE rather than rule (pun intended), and if yours says something "can't" be done, it's time to get an opinion from another designer. So basically, you're saying that doctors should listen to their patients and shouldn't argue about what medications the patients want for themselves. Similarly, a pilot should listen to the passengers about how the plane should be flown. In any profession, it's important to trust and listen to the experts. It's good that the book has borders; otherwise, it would be a mess.

I've no idea why your editor told you that all those table rules (lines) are industry standard. They absolutely are not, as you can verify by looking at any of the three style manuals, such as the Chicago Manual of style. In a normal table, there is only a horizontal rule at the top and one at the bottom. All the others clutter the design and impair reading comprehension. I am a PhD level book editor. I also think that their telling you that there was no way to remove the rule was disingenuous at best. At any rate, don't worry over it. It is fine, just not ideal. I ordered and will definitely print our your versions.

I’m so excited to get my copy next Tuesday! I like the aesthetics of fewer lines, but maybe it will help you to know that as someone struggling with some vision issues since a head injury in March, I think the lines will actually make it easier for me to read the material. I love the hard cover with no jacket too. If I could have all of your books in a hard cover set, I would be thrilled! You’ll get used to having Invisalign in your mouth and you can probably even take them out for filming, especially once you get farther along or right before you change to the next set of aligners. I am in the process of reading your I Ching book. I notice that in your history, you omitted the single most important development in the I Ching. And that is the creation of the 1715 Palace Edition, created by Emperor Kang Xi. The Palace Edition set the standard for the rendering all other versions of the I Ching down to this day. Every I Ching book in existence in modern times is a rendering of this 1715 Palace Edition. The Wilhelm/Baynes book is a translation of the 1715 Palace Edition. I do not read Chinese, but I came across this information in I Ching: The Classic of Change by Rudolf Ritsema and Stephen Karcher. It is also mentioned in The Original I Ching Oracle by Rudolf Ritsema and Shantena Augusto Sabbadini. The existence and impact of the 1715 Palace Edition seems to be a rather extraordinary oversight in your book. You seem to have the The Original I Ching Oracle because you included information from it in your book about the tarot. That information was to the effect that the tarot will never tell you what to do. This is incorrect, of course. If you phrase your divinatory question by asking: "What should I do about .........?" the answer you receive will be telling you what to do since that is how you phrased your question.

I promise you that the "experts" eye for visuals is absolutely less than sub par compared to yours my dear. Your eye for visuals far exeeds even the best that I have seen so far in my life. I pride myself on having a keen eye for the flaws and imperfections one might leave and you have zero as far as I have seen so far therfor your suggestion your request and your original design is far superior to that of the "expert" what is an expert anyway someone has mastered the craft they are in? well that person is in the craft of book making only for the books their company makes and that of anything else. You on the other hand have mastered everything you have touched so far and you know far more about the way the type of book you wrote should be laid out than any one craft of one company expert could ever dream of ... I do hope you see the compliment in this and do not get discouraged at your book being printed the way it is ... not many will notice what I just did.

I do not agree with what they stated to you that a book designer cannot remove those lines or that you must follow industry standard.. I propse that perhaps you find a printing company who allows you to design your book the way you intend it to be... not the way the rest of the world thinks it should be.. If you were to have designed all of the rest of your work the way the rest of the world sees it to be before they see your finished products or finished creations rather then we would not have the impecible teaching and guidance tools that you have so graciously provided us with... If I am able to navigate the in's and out's of printing and my own acces to printers I will let you know because I am with you on the design it matters.

Yes, but because it is considered one of China's Five Classics that for multiple dynasties scholars were required to study, it has also become a key subject in philosophical discourse. So at this point in time, arguably it has become more philosophy than divination. Clearly it's both and my purpose is to restore it back to those original intentions for divination. Not sure how to highlight the best book on Tarot for divination and fortune telling. There are so many! :-) and everybody will have a different opinion and perspective on what is the best. :-)
